OT Mike Adams (Official Thread)

Lichtenfels is a Pitt homer.

Must be a coincidence that Hale is most likely going to end up there....

Anyways, Big Mike was named the best offensive lineman of the week on Rivals. Described as a future franchise left tackle.

You know, if Big Mike hits the weights and works his butt off at conditioning, he might just start next year. His pass blocking is about as good as you'll see for a freshman, so it's basically only his runblocking that needs fine tuned.

The report I got was that Hale was the first to beat Adams in the 1v1s yesterday, which also to be the first day that Adams struggled a bit. No one down there has been lights out for four straight days...everyone has had their ups and downs, and yesterday Hale got the better of Adams a couple of times.

Sounds far from "dominating".

Montville's Gallagher coaches All-Americans
BY JOE HOFMANN
DAILY RECORD
Saturday, January 5, 2008

Gerry Gallagher has long been a Wing-T proponent, but the Montville football coach will have to put the time-honored, conservative offense on the shelf Saturday afternoon.

Gallagher has spent the week coaching the offensive line for the East squad, which will meet the West in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The game will be telecast live on NBC beginning at 1.

One player Gallagher raved about is Ohio State-bound lineman Mike Adams of Dublin, OH.

"He's 6-5, 320, very athletic," Gallagher said. "He's a great leader, a very smart kid."

Adams can move forward, backward and side-to-side. He can pass protect and put a defender on his back. Now you see why the Wing-T would rob the fans of watching the attributes of Adams and elite athletes just like him.

I kept a close eye on big Mike and he played one heck of a game. RJ Washington really got dominated. You never saw Washington near the ball until number 58 came in at LT. Great showing for Adams and way to prove your the top OL in the country!

Just heard Mark May say that Shayne Hale is the number one recruit in the country- that Hale has Big East speed and Adams is a slow Big Ten Ohio kid that doesn't hold a candle... FWIW :paranoid:
Apparently Pitt the Past cannot praise Pitt the Future without Pitt the Past trying to tear down a better player than Pitt the Past or Pitt the Future. Sad.
