The Ohio State women’s basketball team completed its 2016 recruiting class with a slam dunk on Monday when Tori McCoy of Champaign, Ill., reportedly announced that she would play for the Buckeyes next season.

The 6-foot-4 McCoy is a consensus top-10 post player and a five-star prospect. She chose the Buckeyes over South Carolina.

A senior at Saint Thomas More High School in Champaign, McCoy is ranked No. 10 by ESPN HoopGurlz, No. 8 by Prospects Nation, No. 7 by Blue Star Basketball and No. 3 by All Star Girls Report.

She rounds out a five-star class for coach Kevin McGuff, who previously received signed letters of intent from guards Jensen Caretti of River High School in Hannibal, Ohio, and Kiara Lewis, of Whitney Young High School in Chicago.

Simply amazing, 3- 5 Star high school recruits and transfers from First Team All ACC Stephanie Mavunga (4th ranked in her overall class) from UNC and McDonalds All American Sierra Calhoun (top 20 ranked in high school) from Duke. Hard to not think next year tOSU Women will be a front runner for the title.

hate to be nervous Nellie, but how come tOSU seems to attract the powerful transfers. Not enough minutes at their former colleges? Also, didn't know tOSU had that many schollies available. Saw that Pugh has just walked off, intending to transfer in January 2016, freeing up one, but adding three and two more high powered transfers? With tOSU under the perpetual microscope from the NCAA (No Consistency At All) I hope that there are no shenanigans afoot......go Bucks!

It could be that they like McGuff's style of play and they are disenfranchised with the school that they are currently attending. It is interesting to note that two of the transfers are from Duke and one is from UNC. Maybe those three do not like the ACC:smash: I think the reason that Pugh is transferring is because we are pretty loaded in the backcourt and she probably wants more minutes than she is currently getting even though she is a baller. I wish she would have stayed because long-term I think she could have helped us. I hope that you do know that in women's basketball there are 15 scholarships to play with unlike the men's program where there are only 13 scholarships. I am still trying to figure that one out. I highly doubt if there are any shenanigans going on so be at peace with yourself:biggrin:
