OSU transfer portal SF target Darrion Williams officially withdrew from the NBA draft today. Supposedly OSU is in contention, but some have said BYU (again!?!) is in the lead. I expect Williams to end up elsewhere, because we never seem to land the big fish in basketball, but it would be great if we could for once.
It doesn't really matter but now it seems the buzz is that Williams will go to Kansas. Puff Johnson also has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Micah Parrish, and seems more likely than Williams for sure.
Shades of O’BrienOSU also is reportedly pursuing a 20-year old Serbian SG/SF Ognjen Stankovic.
Top transfer portal player linked to the Ohio State basketball team
The Ohio State basketball team is hoping to bounce back and land a transfer portal player after losing out on another one.

The Ohio State basketball team is looking for something good to happen. After losing out on Darrion Williams, the Buckeyes aren't doing great on the transfer portal front. Even though they have landed a few guys from the portal, none of them are true difference-makers.
Losing out on Williams certainly hurts, but he's not the only big-time transfer portal player that the Ohio State Buckeyes are in on. Jamir Watkins, a 6'7 guard from Florida State, is in the transfer portal, and Ohio State is one of the schools that he is considering.
Watkins is one of the best scorers in the transfer portal, averaging 18.4 points per game last season for the Seminoles. Adding a player of his size and skill would be huge for the Buckeyes heading into a big season for Jake Diebler in his second year as head coach.
The Ohio State basketball team has a shot to land dymanic guard Jamir Watkins from the transfer portal
Ohio State has a chance at Watkins, but there are plenty of other schools in on him. This is the kind of player that Diebler would love to have in his system. Defensively, he's versatile because of his size. Offensively, he does a great job of getting to the rim. He can rebound, too.
