signed me up to repeat that three year burn cycle every time...

ill be more blunt. its like working with cattle, sometimes you talk nice to them, sometimes you nudge them along, sometimes you push them, sometimes you have to resort to a swift kick in the ass...What they will do is push the guy they really want...If the kid really wants to go to a school, they will let their intentions known when nudge a little, if you don't think they do then you fill their spot...
Think back to Evan Turner's recruitment, when there was talk we were the early leader, then he wanted to look around and go see all schools, then there was talk that we offered Tyus and were going to push for him, which the staff told Turner and then all of a sudden after saying like 2 weeks earlier he was going to wait, he committed...
Recruiting, scheduling and an alumni update
Dribbles of information:
- Ohio State coaches? annual August vacations have been put off for a bit while they get at least a couple of top 2010 prospects on campus for a look around.
Lenzelle Smith, a 6-foot-3 guard from Zion, Ill., visited last week and received an offer from coach Thad Matta, Rivals.com reported, after leading his AAU team to a sixth-place finish in the 16-and-under nationals in Orlando, Fla.
Anthony Johnson, a 6-3 guard from Chicago, also plans to visit, possibly as soon as this weekend.
Matta had hoped to host an ?elite camp? this weekend for prospects such as Smith and Johnson, but the rules of a number of high-school athletic associations against their student-athletes participating in August camps scotched the plan.
If Matta wants to have such a camp in the future to expose potential recruits to the Ohio State facilities, he may have to schedule it in June, when the participation ban does not exist.
