GO BUCKS!

That 4x100 time is pretty darned good. In fact, it's blazing.

The world record for the 4x100 is 37.40, which is 4.62 seconds faster. Then again, TEAM HALL didn't have the two fastest guys (Ginn and Gonzo) on their team. Considering that, and the fact that these guys are college football players and not world-class sprinters, that time is indeed blazing.

The world record for the 4x400 is 3:01.96, which was probably TEAM HALL's time after only three laps. A 3:48 1600m averages out to 57 seconds a lap...a 57-second 400m is not fast, at all.
Being a track nut, I'm going to have to correct you. The world record is 2:54.20 set by Jerome Young, Antonio Pettigrew, Tyree Washington, and Michael Johnson on 7/22/98. Link

The college 4x400 record is 2:59.59 set by LSU last year at the National Championships. Link

As for my reactions on the times...

4x100 - Nice time for a bunch of guys that don't practice handoffs. The fastest time Ohio State's "official" 4x100 team ran was 40.50... a second can easily be made up on great handoffs so they were on par with many good (not great) college teams this year.

4x200 - 1:35... that wouldn't win any of the high school championships this weekend and Glenville would beat them by 10 seconds!

4x400 - The 400 is a tough race... but I would have thought the winning time would have been sub-3:40. I wonder if Ginn ran this relay for his team?

It would be interesting to see what kind of times they would get from the 4x100 and 4x400 if you put the fastest athletes in those relays.

That is what I would want to see. I don't think it would be far fetched that they would be better than some(if not most) college track teams in the 4x100.

It would've been nice if they ran individual events, like the hurdles, 100 meter dash. All events that Ginn would've probably won.
