...so I say let him run as long as they weld a horn on one of his metal legs so that he can let people know he's coming thru.

 If making double-amputees attach horns to their racing blades is wrong..

Pretty much what I expected from IAAF. With that statement it is pretty much a guarantee the IAAF will make the ruling that he will be ineligible for the 2008 Olympics sometime in the future.

In any case, he still needs to take .6 seconds off his 400 time to even qualify for the Olympics. If he can't do that then all his complaining is for nothing.
As I said... all his complaining was for nothing... I can hear the sighs of relief coming from Monaco... at least until South Africa announces their 4x400 relay.

Pistorius fails in last chance to make Olympics in 400m

Story Highlights
  • Double-amputee Pistorius is trying to make South African track team
  • Pistorius could still be a special invite for the 1,600-meter relay
LUCERNE, Switzerland (AP) -- Double-amputee sprinter Oscar Pistorius fell short of the 400-meter qualifying time he needed Wednesday to make the Olympics, though the personal best time he ran could still get him to Beijing in the relay.

The 21-year-old South African shrugged off a pre-race distraction of threatened legal action against the IAAF and finished third in his heat in 46.25 seconds.

Though still outside the Olympic individual qualifying standard of 45.55, it was 11 hundredths faster than his previous best.

Thank God this guy won't be anywhere near the Olympics. The media already has their full of tear-jerking crap - if they allowed this BS, who knows what they would have come up with.

I guarantee Bob Costas will one of his "Olympic Moments" or whatever the heck he calls his human interest stories.

I'm sure Pistorius will pulverize his competition in the Paralympic Games though.

Pistorius 'categorically' denies assault
Associated Press

JOHANNESBURG -- Famed amputee runner Oscar Pistorius has been charged with assault after a 19-year-old woman said she was injured at a party he hosted, but the athlete on Monday denied the allegations.

The Paralympian star was arrested Saturday night during a function at his house in a golf estate near Pretoria.

Pistorius, 22, said in a statement that he asked the woman to leave the party. Unhappy with this, she began kicking the door which broke, injuring her.

So this guy's story just changed: :yow1:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/-o...killing-girlfriend.ap/?sct=hp_t2_a2&eref=sihp

Paralympic superstar Oscar Pistorius was charged Thursday with the murder of his girlfriend who was shot inside his home in South Africa, a stunning development in the life of a national hero known as the Blade Runner for his high-tech artificial legs.

Reeva Steenkamp, a model who spoke out on Twitter against rape and abuse of women, was shot four times in the predawn hours in the house, in a gated community in the capital, Pretoria, police said.
