Orlando +7.5 at Cavs - Game 5

I was on my way to grab some dinner and listening to Ferrall on Sirius/XM. He mentioned the 22 point lead and said this game was over, that the Cavs have switched it on. All I could thin was: "You fool, this will be close game by the half".

I'm dumping this Cavs avatar...I think it might be bad luck.

People used to always talk about LeBron not having a killer instinct - usually referring to his play late in games.

Having a killer instinct though isn't always about the fourth quarter. Sometimes it's about putting a team away early when you have your foot on their throat. The Cavs don't have the killer instinct to put a team away when they get a big early lead. Mike Brown doesn't have that killer instinct either.

Unfortunately that near-debacle against Detroit was a sign of things to come.

I am. But most people don't catch things like that BB73. Just like the point differential in the Boston-Chicago series. Thats why great announcers like Todd Blackledge are underappreciated....the fact that certain announcers would have mentioned or caught that detail goes unnoticed b/c people just take/listen to what is fed them. Since Reggie and Crossdresser didn't comment on it, nobody even noticed...
I could swear I heard Reggie say the whistle was blew immediately before the break?

Personally, I thought I heard a whistle pretty early on and everyone else just kept playing.

Still, it's bad judgment on the part of the referee to stop play at that time.

You're right - I just watched it again and there were 2 whistles, one when the Cavs were near half-court with the ball, and then one after the basket.

Piss-poor decision by Danny Crawford to blow the whistle for that 'T' when the Cavs were on the break.

Nobody else is upset about the Cavs losing the 3-point shot that should have moved their score from 42 to 45, when the basket went through two seconds before the whistle blew for Van Gundy's technical?

How do the announcers and everybody at TNT miss [censored] like that?

I heard a whistle well before the shot as well. It's a shame. The Cavs traded three points for one on that Van Gundy technical.

Yeah, I was recalling how it took them until the 4th quarter to correct that 3-point shot by Chicago in the first half. :tongue2:

They still could have ran a good offensive set and gotten 3 (or 4) points on the possession.

I agree, the referee should have let the play develop a little more, but the Cavs still got a freebie point and ball.

Allowing 55 points in the first half isn't the improved defense Cleveland has to find to beat this team. Allow another 55 in the second and it will be tee time this weekend for the Cavs.
