Game Thread Oregon State @ Ohio State - 09/01/18, 12:00PM (ABC)

I don't have any objections to qb runs in general. In fact, with Tate's abilities, they likely have a place in this offense. But I'll be glad to have a little break from it being a focus in the base gameplan.
True but I think we just saw the future of what the OSU offense is going to look like from now on under Meyer. The offense today just looked absolutely beautiful. Beavers had no shot in hell at even coming close to slowing it down.

Quick point. It poured. A bit of a shout out to the guys who lifted the field and put that drainage in those years ago. That field drained quickly. If you look at other places, they are going through hell trying to get the water off the field.
I think I recall that it was some sort of suction system that they put in when they did the prescription turf right?

Maybe, but I suspect if/when Tate gets his turn as a starter, runs will be a big part again. Of course, the difference is that designed runs fit his skill set. JTB would run, but he wasn't necessarily best suited to be utilized that way.

Better teams with a better front 7 are going to make you pay for running the "read" option and always giving it to the back.

Establish tendency against the crappy teams. Break it once in a while at key points against the good ones.

That's the idea.

Not sure the QB can do it.

On the other hand, if the OL is as dominant as it was today, simply handing off to the caliber of backs they have on the roster will be sufficient.
