orsu went 1-11 last season in a very poor pac 12. their sole win was a 3-point victory over an fcs team (portland state) that went 0-11. sure, this year is not last year, but that beaver team was historically bad. just based on score alone, i'll be mildly disappointed if we don't cover. if we don't cover, i expect that it will be because we've turned over the ball way too much.A bit surprised with all that's gone on. I expect a ~25-30 point win, but this isn't BGSU or the horrific Kent St. team from '14. That being said I know little about Oregon St.
You're right BGSU would probably beat the beavers... they're that bad.
Sticking with 70-7...there are MAC schools that could cover the spread.Well, I seem to have overestimated the opponent.
Last year was rock bottom--things are looking up in Corvallis. Results probably won't be any better but they do have a freshman back being compared to Jacquizz Rodgers. Don't expect this week to be his coming out party lol. The Beavs are awful and they'll play a lot of freshmen. It shouldn't be close at all.S&P+ rankings has them 110th preseason, with the only game they have a higher than 50% chance of winning being against Southern Utah. Needless to say things are ugly in Corvalis

Well, that and coaching...and recruiting...and facilities...and location...and...You guys my be being a little hard on the beavers.... they're only three pieces away from being competitive....
1 - Offense
2 - Defense
3 - Special Teams.
I'm not worried about the Beavers - unless they are in my creek and at work.
I've seen too many openers where I had elite football fairies dancing in my head, only to realize that Ohio State had a long way to go. The NCAA has cut practice time, so it is really hard to get a team fully ready. Plus you have all of the first-game jitters, communication foul ups, and clusters of dysfunction that have to be worked out.
Last year I really thought the Bucks would go to Indiana and look fantastic. They were horrible in the first half. So, just to keep the potential disappointment down, I expect a solid win, with flashes of elite, but signs that they have a long way to go. I want them near their peak in 5 weeks and in Nov, Dec, and Jan.
This is a veteran group, and if this whole Urban saga has pissed them off, and they are laser-focused, it could be a very ugly day for the Beavers.
My heart says bucks 70-10 but my mind says like 42-10. I wouldn't be too shocked with a slow start (although I'd still be shocked). Perhaps we come out a little too pumped up or the new systems at oregon state arent what we expected?I'm not worried about the Beavers - unless they are in my creek and at work.
