Get the Slob King back where he belongs and out of the booth, give Studrawa the TEs, and encourage Beck to move or take on some less on field role role that's largely about recruiting.

No. Helfrich is a good guy but probably best suited to FCS. Can't recruit (and has no connections outside of OR (CO?). While he hasn't fucked up any of his qb's there is no evidence he coached them up either. And he has shown no innovation as an OC--just run the Kelly blueprint. With an 11 mil buyout he could just go on vacation.

While I'm sure that Knight is the only booster who really matters at Oregon, FWIW I happened to get into a random conversation with an Oregon booster a couple of weeks ago and the guy hated Kelly on the ground that Kelly was an asshole to the boosters (or just didn't kiss enough ass for this guy's liking). I pointed out the winning and his take was that Kelly won with Bellotti's players and that Helfrich had recruited and developed Mariota. Minor point being simply that maybe Oregon wouldn't be as eager to have him back as one would think they should be.

I was actually wondering if that was the case. Kinda like when Harbawl left Stanford for the Niners; they didn't exactly beg him to stay. And again when he left the Niners for scUM...... Being as asshole is kinda cute when it's new and you're winning - they call it intesity and character. After a while, it starts to wear on people and it just makes you an asshole.
