Oregon Ducks (aka U of Nike)

I hope he passes just for the sake of the kid getting a shot at D1. Weather it matters to Oregon's season? I highly doubt it.

He'll have very little time to learn the playbook, players/coaches, cadence, ect. He'll be a solid backup, maybe even 3rd stringer. I don't see him as more. The Ducks have some good recruits fighting for that starting spot.

Anyways, if he doesn't pass he might be screwed as the EW team condemed him pretty much. Which is major BS, the kid has an opportunity to go play at a higher level an the coach is going to not support him? It's not like he's transfering to another D2 school or even a rival. Idk, rubs me the wrong way.

Out here in the Beaver State word is due out any minute.....Meanwhile, EW has already stated he is not welcome back. Most here seem to hope/feel he is ready for Sparty in week 2 (not a lot of faith in Lockie--who isn't very mobile). At any rate it adds drama to the Duck's (otherwise unimpressive) home opener......against EW.

QB Vernon Adams' Oregon status hinges on EWU exam Thursday

Vernon-Adams-Oregon-Transfer.jpg

Vernon Adams' arrival at Oregon has been delayed by the completion of a class at Eastern Washington; passing it is necessary for the quarterback's addition to the Ducks' 2015 roster as a graduate transfer.

According to Sports Illustrated's Lindsey Schnell, who wrote a profile on the Ducks this week, he takes his final exam for the class on Thursday. If he passes, the productive FCS star might be able to participate in Friday's practice. Adams told SI.com he's "studying like crazy" for what he described as his "last shot" at making this move from EWU to Oregon that he announced back in February.

Oregon starts classes in September, so he'll be able to enroll then. The unknowns are what happens if Adams does not pass his final class, or whether he will be a factor in the quarterback competition given the steep learning curve that comes with his late arrival.

QB Vernon Adams passes math test, finally cleared to play at Oregon

Vernon Adams has passed his final exam at Eastern Washington, completing his undergraduate degree and opening the door for his transfer to Oregon in time to play for the Ducks in 2015.

The final math test was scheduled for Thursday afternoon at EWU, and the entire country was waiting to see if the FCS star would join the quarterback competition to take over the Ducks' potent offense.

Inside College Football: Police called to Oregon practice due to TV crew

We now know the depths of Oregon football's paranoia.

The program has long been known for hiding its “secrets” even to those supposedly friendly to the cause.

Local police were called last week when a Pac-12 Network crew was able to glimpse portions of practice, two sources told CBS Sports. A conflict developed when a security guard approached analyst Curtis Conway about moving away from angle that allowed him to see the practice field.

According to the sources, Conway and other Pac-12 on-air talent were merely ascending a stairway to a production truck. What was described as “a standoff” with Conway escalated until someone called the police. Multiple cars with multiple officers showed up minutes later, one source said.

The conflict was quickly diffused, however.

Conway later declined to comment, through a Pac-12 spokesman. What boggles the mind is Pac-12 Network is assumed to be promotional arm of the Pac-12. It is owned by the conference.

Unlike many programs, Oregon did not host a single college staff during spring practice, according to Helfrich. (There were individuals, such as between-jobs Brady Hoke, who were able to stop by the program.)

Oregon schedules future football game against defending national champs

Not those defending national champions, although Ohio State comes to Eugene the following week.

Just weeks after adding Montana to the schedule in 2019, Oregon has now added four-time defending FCS national champion North Dakota State for 2020. Oregon will welcome the Bison to Autzen Stadium on September 5, 2020. As it turns out, Oregon hosts Ohio State the following week in the first half of a home-and-home between the two programs that just squared off in the College Football Playoff national championship game. Oregon’s non-conference schedule wraps up with a home game against Hawaii the following week before jumping into the Pac-12’s nine-game conference schedule.
.
.
.
The Pac-12 does not have a non-conference scheduling requirement to include an opponent from another power conference the way the ACC, SEC and now the Big Ten have in place. To Oregon’s credit though, the Ducks have at least one game per seaosn line dup against another power conference opponent in 2015 (at Michigan State), 2016 (Virginia, at Nebraska), 2017 (Nebraska), 2019 (Auburn in Arlington), 2020 (Ohio State) and 2021 (at Ohio State).
