In the current 4-team playoff world of CFB, an Ohio State QB doesn't get the luxury of developing on the fly, he has to be ready to play at a high level from day one. Even if he's 19 years old with zero experience throwing the ball. That's just reality.

That's especially true in 2021, because Ohio State has at least two other QBs on the roster (McCord, Ewers) with equal or better potential than Stroud. If Ryan Day lets Stroud develop throughout the entire 2021 season, then he risks losing McCord and/or Ewers to the transfer portal prior the 2022 season. Day is going to have some tough decisions to make this season.
But at the same time, having a short leash and throwing your QB under the bus could not possibly help in future recruiting. But I agree, tough decision coming up for Day.
