Online college football sim

BayBuck

Buckeyes are best
I'm sure I've recommended this sim on here before, but a new college football season starts today on DEL (or Dolphinsim, named after its creator, stat-man Andy Dolphin). Seasons are 13 weeks long (recruiting, camps, regular season, bowls/FCS playoff), just long enough to pass the time until OSU Spring Game...

Also, first season is a FREE demo! (only 5 bucks for seasons after that, 5 bucks for 13 weeks) DEL is text-based, so it's not as eye-catching as whatifsports for instance, but Andy Dolphin has the best football sim engine I've ever played--statistically very realistic and it allows for a lot of variety in coaching strategy. You have to spend a season at tier-3 (FCS) and tier-2 (mid-major) to earn a shot at a BCS team, but it takes awhile to learn a lot of the intricacies of the sim.

But in an ongoing college sim, the key is always recruiting, and so I really recommend this game to fans of the recruiting game. These leagues have been around for probably 15 years now, and it's fun to recruit a guy and coach him to college success and then go to a pro career (and coach him in the pro sim too, DEL has good college and pro sims for football, baseball and basketball).

Anyways, that's my plug for Dolphinsim.com : new season starts at 2 EST today, coaches can join anytime, recruits are visiting next Thursday...

Still time to join CCEL (absolutely FREE) before recruiting invites go out on Thursday... There are solid programs where newbies can win right away at schools like Elon, Bryant, Villanova, Bethune Cookman.

CCEL is an active and competitive league (over 80% full in BCS conferences), and for anyone who's ever loved recruiting on PS/Xbox CFB games and simmed through the seasons to get back to recruiting, this sim is really worth a try.

Im in. took Bryant. i feel lost. do i immediately take "control" or do i wait a bit and see what happens....

PM sent. Definitely jump right in and start recruiting, the computer is a terrible recruiter ("Coach Bob" is an okay gameday coach, though, so you can ease into full coaching if you choose).

i will if i can figure out how...

*** just figured it out. I was trying to add a 12th game. I guess I didn't see the non conference button but I accepted. I'm not sure if that works for this year or sets it up in the future.

BayBuck - you have any tier 3 teams going?

Going back to that RB comment...how in the heck did you get a A,A tailback on your div 3 team roster!??! I NEED one of those, yes, yes I do. Maybe Bay can answer this .... is there a way to go back and see if he was a signing (he's a jr now) or was he a transfer and how often does that happen? I'm sure a ton of those upper tier teams would love to have this guy.

Beth-Cookman got that guy with a plain old PT promise in recruiting (which went away when a human coach took over) and he had great camps. The overall talent at tier-3 is much lower, but individual recruits there can still have the huge development you expect at the higher tiers. My own best recent tier-3 recruit was a quarterback named Labriola...

Did you go ahead and pay for the next season? I see you're putting out press releases.
