Olympic Basketball - Who wins the Gold?

Odds suck for Team USA.

After the way we have played ball outside of the country....

Since I didn't create this bet, I'll comment.

When a vBookie takes the time to construct a vBet for the amusement of BP posters, complaining about the odds doesn't exactly show appreciation for the effort.

If you don't like the odds for a particluar option, feel free to not bet on it. Also feel free to be more careful not to appear like you may be bitching about something the vBookie did.

Well, I decided to go about 1/2 all in. I just hope they take their outside shooting with them because that's what kills them in international play.

I guess if you don't like the odds just don't play.:(

The only problem I have with the USA B-ball team is that they are fairly small down low. With D Howard boeing the only true C, it seems as if the team looks to outscore everyone, but I still put my money on 'em cause the team is stacked with shooters.

Size will not make the difference whether the United States wins the gold. It will be their outside shooting beyond the international three-point line.

Team USA's quest for gold begins with a few questions

With Jason Kidd and Kobe Bryant in the mix, Team USA is feeling good about its chances in Beijing.
LAS VEGAS -- The biggest question facing Team USA is whether it will win the gold medal, but the answer is 33 days from being realized.

So as we begin the long trek to Beijing, here are some of the questions that have arisen as Team USA starts the final phase of its quest for gold:

Q: How is this team better than the team that lost to Greece in the 2006 FIBA World Championship in Japan?

A: First of all, the point guard position is much more solid. Instead of Kirk Hinrich (who finished as the starter in Japan) and Chris Paul (who began as the starter), the Americans now have Jason Kidd, Paul and Deron Williams as their playmakers.

They also have added Kobe Bryant, who will concentrate on being a one-on-one defensive stopper more than a scorer.

Q: How is this team worse than the 2006 team?
