Wow. :slappy:

Now if we can post some clips of Mr. Pompous Ass himself, Keith Olberman, this thread would truly be "fair and balanced."

As for that that clip of Keith Olbermann I wouldn't call this one pompous in any way. I was watching his Special Comment segment last night and he really ripped George Bush a new one. He saves his best for the very end of his rant.

Actually, Olbermann did spin it a bit. Bush was asked directly about why he didn't play golf, and it was spun into some sort of declaration that giving up golf was some major deal Bush was pushing. It was a direct question about golf and the Iraq war. He gave it up because it is not the right thing to do. Now, if he was asked a general question about what he was doing for the American families that lost family members and said "I gave up golf" I could see the outrage. Yet this is typical manipulation.

I'm not a Bush fan by any means, but by blowing this up Olberman looks like an idiot.

To put it in perspective, that would be like someone asking me why I had a bumper sticker on my car stating "support our troops," and I reply I support our troops...then that person going off "That is all you do, a bumper sticker!! They are dying, and you are talking about your bumper sticker?" yada, yada, yada. It's sad reasoning. There certainly can be more that I am doing, but since I was asked a direct question I answered it. Take anyone's small gestures and make them seem like that is the only thing they are doing, and they will look like an ass. It's sad reasoning, and I lost essentially all respect I ever had for Keith.

Did you actually watch the video?
The question was asked, by the reporter, if giving up golf was a in relation to the Iraq war. Bush said yes, and then elaborated... (Paraphrasing) ?I didn't want families out there seeing their president playing golf while they are grieving." Which is an understandable PR move, I don't really fault him for (that much).
This was after the UN leader was killed when he said, it just wasn?t worth it.
But the awful part about his statement was that it wasn't even true. He was lying. He was golfing even 2 months after he decided that it "wasn't worth it".
He's politicizing the families of the dead of a war that was waged under his false pretenses.
I think that is something worth getting pissed about. And I?m a little pissed about, My brother just finished his first tour of duty in Iraq, if he had not come home or had been seriously injured and the first thing I heard from Bush is that his personal sacrifice as Commander and Chief was to stop playing golf, my head would have exploded.

Seems to me some people on this thread are forgetting that O'Reilly and Olbermann have some kind of rivalry going on... which is probably no small reason whay Keith keeps putting the biscuit in the basket.

Edit: Seems to me I should pay more attention to the course of a conversation....

Yeah, and no they are having some ruckus over GE's (MSNBC's parent company) involvement in selling technology to Iran. Bill says that they are through a German subsidiary and Keith flatly denies this by stating that the contracts have been terminated........
Actually pretty funny going back and forth watching the two. Reminds me of being on the playground in grade school. Is to!! Is not! Is to!! Is not!!
