Old Fieldhouse Arena Thread

"Barkin' up the wrong tree"
I'll be the first to admit - I'm really not the most educated on the national landscape of college basketball. Those of you who were unfortunate enough to see UGA play hoops this season know exactly why.

BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN I DON'T HAVE OPINIONS!

One of them is that there is nothing better than playing college hoops in an old field house type indoor arena. I think these were the best of the best places to watch a game. Hot as hell, small and compact, crowd right on top of the floor and LOUD. The Big 10 used to have the market cornered on two of the best in college basketball, St. John Arena (Ohio State) and Jennison Field house (Michigan State).

I'm wondering if any Big10/Buckeye hoops fans feel the same way? I guess Kansas and Butler are the only teams left that still play in one of these older facilities.

The NIT match up with Cal last year only affirmed my wish that we still played at St John Arena. Crowd for the game last year was NUTS.

I used to love watching the Buckeyes play games at St. John Arena. There was always a tremendous atmosphere. I just wonder if they would have gotten the same recruits that they have gotten in the past 3 years if they were still playing their games at St. John.
