OL Wyatt Davis (2-Time 1st Team All-American)

MOUNT DAVIS

Davis, like a few other commits this past weekend, got banged up in the first quarter of the game and suffered a sprained ankle. He showed no lingering signs of the injury, though, and removed a defender from the play just a few minutes later in one of the most vicious pancakes I have ever seen.

“I just felt like that program is definitely a program where I could truly develop as a man and as a football player,” he said. “All the stuff that coach [Urban] Meyer talks about with helping guys if football doesn't work out really stood out to me.”

Though he can sometimes play a tad too high, Davis' frame and strength allows him to overpower opponents once he gets his hands on them. That is usually their first — and eventually, only — mistake. Once Davis engages a defender, he has the unique ability to turn them around and get them out of position by shoving them where he pleases.
This is something he won't be able to do at OSU, hope the staff fixes this.

Fairly normal for physically dominant high school kids. I'm sure coaches are willing to take the challenge.

Agreed, he gets by on just over powering but on top of that he's facing DL kids that are sometimes 5'10 which makes getting leverage even harder. He's shown good athleticism and bend in summer camps so I don't think it'll be a translation issue. He's an ideal 'high ceiling, high floor' kid.
