He's telling the truth. Puttin' on hurt on some mugger-thug sort trying to damage up on a family member...or something like that---in CBus, over the weekend! Hero-type action!

This is the gist of the story...Reid chased down a mugger from behind while in Columbus and laid the smack down...

The best part about the story is the other recruits saying that they wanted him to play for tOSU because of how mean and nasty they thought he could be on the football field...

Idiotic mugger thought a group of football recruits would be a smart target for theft (specifically Reid's dad). Reid would have none of it, took the guy to the ground and made him pay. The fellow recruits were blown away and wanted that beast on their team.

KRISTA JAHNKE
He's destined to be Buckeye
BY KRISTA JAHNKE ? FREE PRESS SPORTS WRITER ? February 5, 2009

Deborah Fragel knew Wednesday wasn't an ordinary day when she heard the shower running shortly after 6 a.m.

Her son, Reid Fragel, typically doesn't wake up for school until around 7. But to a Division I football recruit joining one of the best classes in the country, the first Wednesday of February -- national signing day -- is no day for beauty sleep.

And so Fragel, a tall, muscular tight end from Grosse Pointe South, was at the school, bright-eyed but jittery, by 7:30.

"He was saying to his dad, 'Are you sure we can park here?' as they pulled in," Deborah Fragel said. "He was a little nervous."

Soon enough, the enormous task of the day -- a culmination of years of hard work and the beginning of a promising future -- was signed, sealed and delivered.

By 7:35, his letter of intent to become a Buckeye at Ohio State was traveling through the fax machine. And within moments, coach Jim Tressel was on the phone.

"He just welcomed me aboard," Fragel said. "He said, 'We're excited to have you.' "

Sometimes when looking at how good a recruiting class can turn out, guys like Fragel are overlooked, since he is not at marquee position. I love knowing that this young man is a Buckeye, he has the perfect combination of size, speed, hands and blocking, plus obviously a mean streak to be a great TE here, or if he outgrows that position, he could be an absolute stud OT with great size and feet, it's good to be a Buckeye fan

Fragel Becomes Latest Michigan Import

Craig Krenzel and Vernon Gholston were two Michigan products who brought major contributions to the Ohio State football program. The Buckeyes are hoping that the two Michigan players added to this year's class will do the same. One of them, tight end Reid Fragel, recently made it official by sending in his letter of intent.
