OL Kyle Dodson (Official Thread)

1. Give me Decker, Dodson (true tackles) and either Diamond or O'Connor (Guard)

2. Add Neal or Diggs as a play-maker

3. Two of the following ( Williams, Perkins, Santos, Marcus) at linebacker

4. Everything else is gravy ( Winston, new names, etc)

Agreed I like Decker and Dodson because they project at the tackle position better than diamond, o'conner and kozan and i dont see any new tackle names emerging as of yet. This team needs a playmaker or 2 I like Neals versitility, I think he's a must get. I like Marcus, Perkins then WIlliams in that order then I think Santos projects to move down to the Dline because he's starting out grow the ILB spot. With all that said, I'm stoked to see how this class finishes.

Being a fan but having never played, is there really a big difference between OT and OG? Guessing the further you are from center the quicker you need to be, but they're all hulking masses.

Not just quickness and agility, but tackles usually also need longer arms and a longer frame overall, as that also helps to deal with a variety of edge rush techniques.

Really hope Dodson doesn't switch his commitment, but I could understand why if he does. Another thing of note is that DelVaughn Alexander, who recruited Kyle for Wisconsin, just left today to join Todd Graham at ASU. You have to wonder if that might possibly play into Dodson's decision.

It certainly will play in to his decision. This is what is opening up a lot of these kids, coaching staff changes. Decker is on the radar for that very reason. Kids get recruited by a guy and get to know their position coach only to find out they both bolted for Ohio State. Hell, you even have Michael Dyer wanting to transfer to Arkansas State to follow his guy. I don't think people put enough emphasis on the assistant coach relationship with players and how powerful it can be.

247-1/4-Badgers set the bar

Urban has been making a great, strong pitch to Dodson lately and says were running neck and neck with Wisky. Urb told him he would coach him like he did Tebow, personally.

How aobut the fact Beilema has encouraged him to take visits to make sure of his decision?

I hope Wisconsin fans are crucifying him the way OSU fans did JT. :roll1:

Could you elaborate on this? That's the first time I've heard of any such thing.

I've read many comments over the years that bashed JT for his "commit when you're ready" and "take your visits before you make your decision" approach to recruiting..."no other coach would say that to a recruit he really wanted".

Back to Dodson.
