Justin Boren
4. Junior offensive lineman Justin Boren
Seldom has a Buckeye been talked about more before his first snap in scarlet and gray. What's unusual about Boren is that he has already been named honorable mention All-Big Ten - during his time at Michigan. In 2006, he became just the fourth Michigan offensive lineman in almost 40 years to start as a freshman.
While Boren sat out the required season a year ago after his transfer, scouts who saw the Buckeyes in practice thought he was the best lineman on the team. The influence of his aggression has been noted often - never has a Buckeye so frequently been called "nasty" - but there's no doubt that Ohio State can use a guard who can get of the ball and drive his opponent to the ground.
But his pass blocking is where he needs to improve, Jim Tressel mentioning that himself. And with Terrelle Pryor at quarterback, being nasty probably doesn't matter as much as being nimble.
Boren is a proven commodity though, starting at both guard and center for the Wolverines. He even played tackle for Ohio State in the spring game and held his own, though that will never happen this season.
There's little doubt that Boren will play well this season and provide an upgrade at left guard. He could be much better than just that.
