OL Justin Boren (Official Thread)

re: mike boren

i know mike boren quite well and he did play little league football for the walnut heights packers and he did attend independence before he transferred over to play his junior and senior year at eastmoor high school for bob stuart. mike was the best middle linebacker on every team he played for and he had great instint for knowing where the ball was and was so quick on his lateral moves. he was one mean mother to play against and earle bruce really screwed up by not wanting him to play for the buckeyes. mike was always very close to his family and didn't want to leave ohio to go to school just as his son feels. thats why mike moved back to ohio after he graduated and raised his family here. but of course his whole family loves um. he was a super star there when osu rejected him so who can blame him and his family for hating osu. but mike is very smart and hes letting justin figure it all out for himself and only he will make the final decision. that way whatever he decides is one decision he will have to live with.

I was just assuming it was a scum article, thus it was slanted in their direction, but I stand corrected sir.

I still believe he will end up with tOSU.
wow...didn't take much to convince you! :wink2:

I agree...I think in the end, the decision is Justin's to make and I think he chooses OSU.

I was beginning to wonder if anyone else remembered Mike from Independence. My sister was in his class and I remember everyone being disappointed in his transfer. I'm certainly not doubting you and my memory is fading, but I thought Mike transferred after his junior year and his parting was far from amiable......Thanks for the info.

no mike left independence in the middle of his junior year and it was due to his coach at indy being a real jerk and making life miserable for mike. and yes after he left to go to eastmoor the indy coach had it in for him and he did everything he could to try to keep mike from getting a scholly. so you are right in saying it wasn't amiable. but best move for mike. by the way i think justin is going to be a buckeye when all is said and done.

listen, you all are talking about his dad, when Justin will be the one eventually deciding on which school he is going to go to... sure his dad and family's opinions matter, but his family needs to think of what is best for Justin, and if Justin wants to play football in the pro's, this is as good as a chance as he's going to get. He has the chance to be part of something great here, and the way this o line class is shaping up along with Boone, he might (now don't quote me on that or read much into this that was a might) be part of what could be the greatest offensive line ever assembled at tOSU Hope this guy chooses OSU in the end

WARNING: MAJOR UM SLANT

I really am just posting this info because I think it is pretty funny. As we all know, there are varying degrees of "homerness". There are guys like Kurelic, who I think are almost too objective to a fault. Then there are shady characters like Tom Lemming. Then there are guys who are overly optimistic like Gary Housteau. Beyond that, there are guys like this...

After originally saying that Michigan would probably take a wait-and-see approach with Justin after loading up on OL last year, this Michigan insider spoke of a possible Boren committment to UM as early as last weekend. The reporter even refers to Justin as "true blue". He mentions that Justin has sent pictures (to whome he doesn't say) of himself wearing Michigan attire.

No equivocation whatsoever, Nevada. Wow. A great anchor to a world-class haul. It figures that a lot of things are working in our favor to counter the Michigan influence. Let's have Gonzalez and Downing give him a call to assuage any doubts!
