OL Justin Boren (Official Thread)

SCOUT$ (Scum Site)

2/20/05

Coach Carr offered him a scholarship this past Friday but he did not verbal and he got a chance to talk to their coaches at length about the depth chart. He got the impression he was the only interior lineman they were recruiting this year. Justin plans on graduating early. tOSU and Scum are still the teams to beat.

Boren should ask OG Conner Smith (ttun recruit) what position he plays.

Boone's from Ohio...Alex and his brother being Buckeye fans is not all that suprising. On the other hand, how many kids who are born and raised in Michigan who weep because their brother would play at Michigan instead of Ohio State?
I think that you are looking at that from the wrong perspective. I can tell you as a buckeye fan stuck in Michigan, you feel outnumbered and the "us against them mentality" all the time. You latch on to the few Buckeye fans around you. Now if one of them decides to become a turncoat and go to the other side, it's an even bigger feeling of betrayal. Especially if it was family. I'd be sick. Your ally for so many years behind enemy lines turning out to be one of them in the end . . .

It's not like you were born and raised in Michigan, with your father being from Ann Arbor, and yet became a Buckeye fan either...you were born and raised in Ohio and got transplanted to Michigan, right?

Boren's little brother was born and raised in Ohio with his dad being from Columbus, and yet he hates Ohio State and loves Michigan to the point he'll cry if his brother even thinks about going to Ohio State. All because his dad went to Michigan? That's a little too much, I would think.

From the Michigan site...Justin was leaning towards OSU until the Michigan offer...now it is up in the air. Michigan State and Northwester have also offered. The fact that OSU offered so early is what is keeping them in this race. He plans to decide in either May or June because he wants to enroll early.

I would think scUM would be the favorite. I wonder if his Dad was recruited to tOSU. If Justin plans to live in Ohio being a Buckeye would be an advantage in whatever career he enters. Iremember his Dad as a (11 year old playing for the Walnut Heights Packers against Keith Griffin, Many moons ago..lol

I played for the Walnut Heights Packers for one year when I was about 8. Mike Boren lived around the corner and down the street from me. My next-door neighbor was one of his best friends. Mike was big and tough, not someone you would want to mess with.

Not sure I believe that statement, I think he has always been 50/50 and this one will go through the summer. I think in the end, the depth chart at tOSU is an advantage.

:wink2:
take it for what it's worth...all I can say is that I didn't make that comment up myself. it came out of someone else's mouth. :wink2:
