Kind of a bummer, but t it appears that the plan right now is for him to do a 2 year mission after his freshman year. So he wouldn't even be able to play (assuming a redshirt) until 2022. And more likely 2023 since you need to be reaclimated. If he does do the mission, I don't see him ever playing at OSU. This isn't BYU where a lot of players do this, and it's not as high level football. Can't see him do that and ever play at OSU.

I'm pretty sure the staff was well aware of this before they issued the offer...

Articulate, grounded young men are exactly who parents want to meet when they drive their 17 year olds to a college campus for an official visit.
