OL Devontae Armstrong (Official Thread)

Toledo Central Catholic, Elder, Massillon, St. Ignatius, Moeller, Hoban, Mentor, Springfield......one thing is for sure, these kids at Ed's go through the ringer every single year and there is no hiding behind their film week in and week out. Their line is must watch with the twins and Roebuck. They've got a DL prospect that has a Kentucky offer too, that's got to be a fun practice scene.
Its interesting because I believe both brothers could play OT, but Deontae(correct me if I'm wrong) played OT and Devontae played OG. Roebuck has the other OT spot locked down at St. Ed's, so we won't get to see Devontae on the outside until camps and until he gets to college. I just think with their leaner frames, OT suits them better, but it will be an interesting few years to see how they grow

Armstrong twins are now both 4stars in the 247 composite after the Rivals ratings bump. I could see that rising even more after 247 and On3 do more ranking updates. Twins are also now rated higher than their teammate, Ben Roebuck for the 1st time. Frye could have a big win(2x) pursuing these 2 early

Would like to see Roebuck in S&G as well. Much rather that than wearing that silly blue helmet. However, Pnuts thought that the twins have surpassed Roebuck for first time is also telling. Maybe Roebuck's potential is topped out? Hate to see that kid go North with a chip on his shoulder.

I think the issue with Roebuck is that he's a big, plodding OL who feasts on smaller DL. He doesn't have the athleticism that the twins have to get out in space, and succeed in the RPO, spread offense. He's going to need an offense that relies on a power run game like at scUM. If he were to be an option at OSU, it'd be solely at IOL, which is an easier position to find players to fit the OSU system as opposed to OTs, who OSU wants leaner "athletes" with great footwork. Birm has said that he sees an OSU OL class of 6(3 from OOS and 3 In state). If OSU needs an in state IOL, I can see Satterwhite and Wheelock as better options, IMO.
