The interesting thing is, after doing something like that, you still have to face parents during recruiting. I don’t know how the purple people killer or LR can ever look at a parent in the eyes again. If nothing else, at least their true colors are shown and anyone letting their kid play for guys like that have had their warning.

Kellydid the same thing when he left UC,and he still got kids to go to ND. Recruits and their parents don’t give a shit if it gets their kid to the NFL and a free education along the way. Manny Diaz took a job for what seems like a week at Temple, and left them for Miami.
Same as they did before. Leopards don’t change their spots. These guys are the same guys they were last week, just now with bigger paychecks and perksThe interesting thing is, after doing something like that, you still have to face parents during recruiting. I might have bought this 10 years ago, but things are different now. It seems like the parents of the better recruits are just as cut throat as the coaches now that there is a transfer portal and income involved. They want their kids to go to the NFL - they don't care if the coach goes to another school, because they can just send their kid after him.The interesting thing is, after doing something like that, you still have to face parents during recruiting. I don't feel bad for ND at all. Live by the sword, die by the sword.I feel like I should be more upset about Riley and Kelly leaving mid-season, but I'm just not. Maybe after seeing so many coaches do stuff like this I'm becoming immune to being offended by it.
I feel like ND upgraded. Kelly was never bringing the level of talent needed to win a playoff game to South Bend. We know what their ceiling is with him.
It would almost be worth having ND win the CFP this year with Freeman as the interim/new HC just to torment Kelly.
Things aren't different now! Only difference is the payments are now out in the open! Spare me with the back in the day CFB was righteous and honest BS. Parents, recruits, programs, boosters have been cutthroat for decades. Have you never heard of the cheating in the Big 8 days with SMU? Or Barry Switzers well known Sooners days? Miami when they invented Swag with Da U? Cris Carter stating in many interviews being paid by an agent? Kids have always transferred and went to schools which could send them to the NFL. College sports has never had parity for that reason. The NFL will find talent anywhere, but they find a lot more of it at OSU, Bama, USC, Clemson, Oklahoma, etcI might have bought this 10 years ago, but things are different now.
