Oklahoma Sooners (official thread)

This is fine and all, but Hurts wasn’t the reason for the L. They scored enough points to win, the D didn’t show up.
He had a ton of yards, but his only TD pass was behind the line of scrimmage to Lamb, who made 6 guys miss over 70 yards.

And he was in the game when K-State made a 41-6 run in the middle of the game. A couple turnovers that weren't his were involved, but the QB has to keep his team closer than 48-23, when they started the comeback with Lamb's remarkable TD. So it's appropriate that his Heisman status suffered.

And haven't you heard, Alex Grinch fixed their defense?

Fixed it just right, at least in my mind.

The success of Mahomes and now Mayfield in the NFL is probably what they'd cite

Look at Mahomes' stats this year: http://www.nfl.com/player/patrickmahomes/2558125/profile

Look at Mayfield's stats this year: http://www.nfl.com/player/bakermayfield/2560800/profile

I'm not sure I'd say Mayfield is having a lot of "success" here.

Our coach also pulls Fields mid 3rd quarter in over 2/3's of their games and doesn't want him to run 20+ times a game to pad his stats. Big 12 is also a wide open game, not as physical as the B1G. 4 of the top 10 defenses in the country reside in the B1G...... and yeah, our guy wouldn't have lost to KSU. That too.

Yeah, a QB is going to put up more impressive numbers playing all 4 quarters in a 48-41 game, than playing 3 quarters in a blow out especially when part of the time he's just trying to eat up some clock with running plays.

Also, OU doesn't have a single RB with over 400 yards on the ground: Fields is leading a way more multi-faceted offense than Hurts.
