Went to Cincinnati to visit my grandmother and didn't get to watch the first half. By the time I got back the Buckeyes actually started making their run.
This is also the first game of the tourney that I wasn't extremely nervous for.
During the win streak, it was just me and the girlfriend. Tonight her mom is in town (who happened to help put her sister through college at TSUN), and she was rooting for OSU to win. Sorry. I should have offered to put her up in a hotel for the night. Or just booted her ass out during the game.
Didn't bring the dancing Brutus doll my grandma gave me years ago out for this one. I usually pull him out of the closet for football games and basketball tourney games.
I forgot to do it Thursday and the Buckeyes won so I made a conscious decision to leave him in storage tonight, with disastrous results.
On both Sunday (vs Iowa State) and Thursday (vs Arizona) I was traveling to/from Minneapolis. I was only able to catch the highlights via ESPN and also wore a certain Buckeye tee shirt.
Well today I watched the game and wore a different Buckeye shirt. About 10 minutes to go in the second half I turned the game off and changed into the same shirt I wore the last two games. It began to work just as if I was back on the road unable to watch. I then got excited and tuned back in in the final 2 minutes.
I didn't do much of anything today. For every game in football and basketball season, when the Buckeyes won I was either at work, or had done something around the house or apartment depending on the date.
Today, I took the easy route, I didn't do squat and it burned us.
It was me. I bet on them, I never do, but wanted some action. As well, Went to the game and didn't even wear the same shirt as Thursday... Should've known better.
Mine. I'd purchased a "Bloodbuzz, Ohio" (song by the National: shirt pictured below) t-shirt a couple of months ago, which had become my official game watching shirt. We had a couple of friends over, in prepping food . . . I forgot to wear it, and the Bucks played like they were just buzzed, not on a bloodbuzz. On the bright side, the shirt remains undefeated and is ready for some football.
