The win over Notre Dame, who was ranked as the No. 2 overall team in the country and had lost just once all season before Thursday night, was Ohio State’s first-ever win over a team ranked in the top two nationally.
With its victory, Ohio State advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA women’s soccer tournament – where its season ended last year – for the second year in a row.
The Buckeyes, who are 10-4-6 on the season, will now face No. 5 seed Baylor in South Bend on Sunday. The game kicks off at 2 p.m. and will be broadcast by ESPN+.
