Ohio State vs. Penn State, Friday, 630pm, BTN

That's a little too far dude

No it's not. That should have been a W.

Wessen was giving up baskets or fouling on D, missing every shot from layups to somehow taking a 3 for 5-6 minutes before Holtmann realized He needed to get him out of the game. That stretch cost them 8-10 points. Tate on the bench last 8 minutes of the game......someone check
Holtmann's bank account for a big cash on Penn St., if He's actually that bad at game management, the future is grim. That was pitiful. I can't believe they gave that game away. Should have been a 6-8 point win easy.

And the last basket for the win, holy chit. That doesn't happen in JV basketball.

They have a much deeper bench, and we fall asleep way too much. Kam kept us in it at the end, but let's be real, his defense won't be missed next year. Neither will Dakich's. Love his grit, but he's no Craft. Number 4 would've held Carr to 10 points tops. Keita waits way too long to take over, and Tate playing out of control doesn't help either. Nevermind that Keita misses a front end of 1 and 1 and Wesson I believe did it twice. Giving up at least 3 points, if not 6. Carr is good, but he gets by with a ton of pushoffs with the off hand. Had 3 fouls at the 14 minute mark, not one after that, yet Tate rides the bench with 4 with 2 of them ticky-tacky. The whole team clammed up until the last 5 minutes. I don't get why they are so scared to shoot. CJ and Dakich bring nothing offensively when they are scared to shoot. Hopefully someone comes in next year that can shoot 3's consistently. This is where we will be lacking with Kam and Keita leaving. Dad says Ahrens can shoot lights out. Not sure if he has the handles for college but he is better than his older brother. Hopefully the other recruits can shoot also. I think we'll be fine in the tourny. We are Penn State's rival, not the other way around. Notice their white outs in both sports are vs. Ohio State. Did Meyer show up to root us on like Franklin did for them? Don't think so. Franklin was all fired up after they whooped us at State College. They hate us, and have since joining the Big Ten.

This season was fools gold but we were starved for any thing . We will probably take a step back next year.
"Fools gold" is a little harsh. Three losses against a team, while frustrating, doesn't erase everything else a team nearly universally to finish near the bottom of the conference accomplished. We were always bound for a step back next year based on attrition and how thin the roster is this year. Barring KBD unexpectedly returning, we lose by far our best player and along with Tate, our only dependable scorers.

Unfortunately, Holtmann and staff have swelled for expectations so much, that i fully expect the mouth-breathing portion to turn on him and his staff if they stumble a bit next year.

Well fuck. I'm pretty pissed off and the refs were bad, but we should have won that game and it's on us. No way we should have lost that game. I also think about how I wish we would have had the 3 seed and we'd have a much easier win against Rutgers. But I also think about how there is no fucking way we should have lost 3 out of 3 to the Pedsters.

Probably looking at a 5 seed I would think in the tourney, but I hope this team reflects on the success it had at our peak and can find whatever it was that sparked it again. Whatever we did against PSU this year is not our team. We can have success in the tournament and I think our players know that. I hope anyways.

This isn't the end of the world. Nobody expected half what this team has done. Expectations in the tournament are tempered, probably for the better. I expect to win the first round and either lose close to a superior team or squeak into the Sweet 16 at best. Something about this pedster team was just kryptonite for the Buckeyes. Now, I hope Purdue goes out and does something productive with that damned hammer to them.

Hockey now up 4-1 over Sparty in the third.
