Game Thread Ohio State vs Penn State, 10/28/17 @ 3:30 ET (FOX)

Went back and watched their game against IU and my god was that game just given to them.

Kickoff return to open the game, punt returned fumbled and returned for 6, plus two fumbles that gave them a short field, and to top it off they roughed their punter to extend a PED drive that led to six.

A couple things about them though... On defense they play a ton of cover two under flooding the underneath routes, their DL is a strong front but they lack any kind of quickness, they get ZERO push upfront at DT on the pass rush, they have to bring blitzes to get pressure, and they're not the best in space (drink).

As has been mentioned if you get any kind of pressure on Trace he melts. So melt his ass.

God if we just don't turn the ball over, don't allow a Barkley return, and force them to drive the field this game could very well be a lopsided one.

Yeah, some of the keys will obviously be turnovers, penalties, field position and special teams. Win in those areas and we most likely win.

If we just don't beat ourselves and make them drive the field I know we win.

As you said if we turn the ball over to give them short fields, and allow them to score non offensive points yeah it'll be tough to win. God damn if I don't feel good about our chances having watched that IU game because I forgot how self inflicted that game was for IU.

All things considered to hold them under 400 yards offense like IU did makes me think if we come out and stop the run and harass Trace we have a shot to honestly plunger this game.

When I watch Ped State I see a lot of Barkley getting tackled for a loss this year. Look at his rushing yardage this year. Ped State is depending on their passing game a lot.
Will the refs call holding on PSU? Or will they just let both offenses "just play"?

I don't think its play calling I just think their O-line is not good. Only reason they didn't give up more sacks last game was because they ran all over scum and their 3 man front.

They'll let them "just play" until a critical moment in the 4th qt like BIG officiating crews do.

So stoked for this game! Two elite teams playing at a very high level. So many story lines and game scenarios and player match ups. I just want to see great play calling and our guys execute at a very high level. I really think Dobbins and Weber are the key here because if we are successful running the ball it will set up everything else and it will handcuff the Cults aggressive defense.

Yep, their OL is mediocre and the DL should have a big day against it. Just have to keep track of McScrambles so they don't let dead drives come back to life.

I ended up booking the Holiday Inn downtown because it wasn’t as crazy expensive as the others. I do have a room being held at the Candlewood in the medical district, but I’m not so sure I want to drive after the game, so I might let that one go.

The hotels in the area are requiring a minimum two night stay, which I think is garbage and told them so, but yeah. 460/night at the Crowne is just absurd when you must take two nights, in my opinion.

Holiday Inn Downtown isn’t as horrible, but still at around 300 a night.
