Ohio State vs. Penn St., Thursday, 8 PM, BTN

KBD couldn't play most of the 2nd half with foul trouble. Cj Jackson couldn't play the first half with foul trouble. Tate couldn't play defense the 2nd half with foul trouble. Refs might have had an impact.....

The officiating was one-sided and god-awful after the first 10 minutes. Refs got foul happy and hamstrung our best players...if they weren't on the bench in foul trouble, they were afraid to make a legitimate defensive play because they didn't want to get in foul trouble. I really feel the poor officiating dictated our lack of aggression on defense for much of the game. You could see them get hesitant to avoid fouls and give up easy drives inside. Put the damn whistle up refs, that was embarrassing. The last foul on KBD was downright criminal and took our best player out of the game for most of the 2nd half.

That being said, I am pretty sure that the Carr guy hit 100% of his shots or more, PSU was damn near perfect behind the arc, and it still took a last second bank from half court to win. All this after quite a few games grouped closely together. I am pissed off, but not at our team and certainly not concerned. Great effort to come back and almost win that game, really proud of our guys. And if we could never see this officiating crew ever again, that would be fantastic. On to the next one.

11-14 from 3 for a team that shoots 37.4%. Most were contested. Fluke

That is how I feel. I hate the loss, but shit...what can you really do? We still almost overcame that until the biggest fluke of all in the bank to win. Well, maybe...Carr shot like 110% tonight...unofficially.

we don't play again until tuesday. im sad.

I am sad to have to wait that long in my gut but glad the team gets a nice long break...they are definitely worn down with the recent schedule and need this break to get healthy and regroup. Think of it as a bye week in football...sucks to not have the game to watch, but good for the team in the long haul.

I didn't mind the officiating so much in this game...KBD's fourth made no sense, but for the most part, I don't feel like we were getting hosed too bad. The Bucks have played really aggressive, physical defense all season, and it's worked well for them, but eventually you hit a game where you reach a little too much and bump a little too hard.

I almost couldn't be in more awe of KBD's game and clutchosity. Amazing game, and I guess you have to tip your hat to the opponent. Go Bucks!

Idk, I thought there were several bad calls but maybe it was just illuminated because they were all on our best players in crucial moments. But I agree with pretty much everything here, PSU could just do no wrong tonight and you have to give them credit for being damn near perfect.

Nebraska had tons of open looks against us from three, but only shot 27.6% from 3-point land and lost by 5. PSU shot 79% from 3-point land and needed a half court heave to beat us by 3.

In all reality, we probably should have lost to Nebraska and beaten PSU.

The officiating was awful. Tate and KBD were both fouled on their final shots of the game, both were missed. But if KBD taps a guy on defense he's getting called. Tate steps around a guy, he flops, the refs call a charge. Guys holding Tate's hand down the lane, not called.

The problem with the officiating was that the Buckeyes' physicality drew fouls, while the Pedsters' did not. The two teams were judged by different metrics, which HoItmann recognized but couldn't comment upon.

It's over. On to the next.

I do not want to be the first one to do this but I have to put a little bit of blame on our coach for sitting our 4 starters for so long as we kept falling further behind while we had next year's team on the court. I know that we had significant foul troubles but I think he just let it get out of hand. A lot of second-guessing on my part and I am aware of that but he just let the margin get too large.

I will also admit that the officiating was pretty poor and the one that stands out in my mind is when one of the guys from Slapping Valley pushed one of our guys with both hands out of bounds right after a made basket by them.. This was right before our starters came back in the game.
