I don't see why Holtmann is playing Mahaffey over Royal. No reason to play a guy for defense when he hurts the team on offense, plus keeps a talented younger player with more upside on the bench. I see Mahaffey has the tools to be a very good defender, but let's expect more of our starters than just be good on defense. Bonner got some minutes today, but they need Chatman back so he can stay on the bench.

Zed Key looks incredibly trim. I realize Okpara is starting, no doubt his size, athleticism & length make him a logical choice to start for those reasons, but Key is still the more skilled player of the two & probably deserves more minutes overall. Encouraging first game for Scotty Middleton.

Only good thing about it is wrestling and volleyball matches. For hoops and or football, it sucks

Not sure if either of you tried it, but I did the last two years for winter sports (primarily wrestling) and it was atrocious. The streaming quality was awful when it actually worked (which was around 50% of the time), the site layout was impossible to follow, and the commentary was almost always bad. For awhile I told myself it was better than not watching at all, but I changed my opinion in short order and will never renew that again even if it is said to be improved.

Which segways into my appearance in this thread to ask those who watched how we looked. I already read the posts and the box score/article on the game, but that isn't always telling. Looks like Zed, Thornton and Roddy took over (as you would hope), and Middleton had a nice debut. Closer final score than I expected to see but I know a lot of factors can impact that, i.e. it sounds like Oakland was on fire shooting the 3. But it is the first game and lots of young guys playing, so I didn't rush to judgment.

Go Bucks on the win and looking forward to watching Friday's game against A&M.
