What's your name:), I was only stating what the oddsmakers always think so I am going to bookmark (how do you do that:huh:) this post and remind what's your name what the oddsmakers always think after Ohio State gives UNC a wax job:).

Also, do you belong over in the Ohio State track thread :biggrin2:
Just bustin' your chops a bit... gotta get back in basketball form!

Did anyone notice UNC had 26 TURNOVERS in their opener vs. FIU? Anyone thinking they're not going to struggle with their guard play in this game vs. OSU is wrong. Plus, it appears that John Henson, their one incoming McD's AA, isn't ready to make major contributions right away, just judging by his first game - 12 minutes, 4 points off the bench - and the fact that he is not physically well developed at all. Apparently they're going to start Graves instead - not a good sign for UNC bc they needed Henson to be ready right away if they expected to not have significant drop off.

Given how UNC and Ohio State looked in their respective opening games, picking OSU for the "upset" is going to be trendy this week. Meeting up in March might be a different story, but that this point of development, there's a strong argument for the Buckeyes being the better team. Adding Lauderdale to the mix strengthens that argument, and I think we're going to see a great game and great Buckeye win in MSG next Thursday.

NC is having some problems with so many new players in the lineup.
I think we have a real chance to win thursday.
Go Bucks. :oh::io:
ESPN

"We have no chance in New York if we play this kind of basketball," Williams said flatly.

It just wasn't coachspeak, either. Sure, the Tar Heels (3-0) won each game by double digits this week, but their performance against the Crusaders (0-2) didn't offer a lot to feel good about. They committed 14 turnovers despite playing against a zone defense much of the game. Their defense repeatedly gave up several baskets on backdoor cuts, with several coming against their big men who are having to defend more of the court as smaller teams spread the floor.

They get points from their big men. We get them from our wing guys.

We will see how this one turns out, but I think that we will be able to outrun them, especially if they committ turnovers, that will help fuel the break.

My biggest concern against a team like this is our ability to slow down guys like Thompson, Zeller, Davis with Lauderdale, Madsen, and Z. Lighty is going to have to matchup against a guy 5-6 inches taller than him, and hopefully Drew doesn't give Turner fits at the point as he is quick...

Solid post. The guy that concerns me the most is Thompson. I just hope that Lauderdale doesn't get into early foul trouble because I do not think Madsen will be able to handle Thompson and Z is very foul prone also.

Carolina is always very well coached and they will handle our man to man without converting too many turnovers but hopefully when they do turn it over we can get out and score. More guys are going to have to step up their rebounding efforts because we just can't rely upon Turner which has happened the first two games.

I'm sure not saying we can't win, nor even that we won't win. But talking like the Buckeyes are favorites in this game is unrealistic.

Not that the team shouldn't feel they will lose, but they seem to very confident about this game...

They understand the key to this game will be rebounding...I really think we will rebound...

As usual, you and Cbfan40 are spot on. I don't see many flaws in Deon Thompson's game at this level. I'm confident in Dallas playing him straight up, but as you noted, our lack of frontcourt depth compared to UNC is where the damage can possibly be done. If our bigs can at the least hold their own against Carolina, then I think our wings are capable of carrying the night.

Evan Turner will draw fouls and keep the Bucks in it. David Lighty will turn Carolina over multiple times, he will take two charges & grab three steals. And Diebs will hit a timely three to put the Bucks over the top. Turner will cement himself as a top 3 player in the nation tonight too.

So excited for this one!!!!!!!!!!!

I know it is early season, but we can put ourselves in the conversation with a win tonight...

Saw the line opened at +1.5. Looks like Vegas is giving us some respect.

O and hopefully we live by the 3 tonight

I'm taking the Bucks by that 1.5. If Vegas is only giving that much the game can go either way by one three ball. I'm saying that Dallas and Turner and Lighty will get us the rebounds we need.

It'll be close....Past history B10 vs ACC makes me nervous.

I think that our experience will pay off. Especially after reading about UNC earlier games. Fingers crossed.
