This is the strangest tournament I have ever heard of. There are sub-regional rounds and regional rounds. Then comes the finals in New York, the participants of which seem to have been picked in advance. So, even if we lost our first two games, we would still be in NY for the Championship Rounds. Curious.

There are NCAA rules for how many tournaments you can play in the regular season. I forget the exact rules, but this may be one way for teams to get in extra games by playing in a "tournament" that isn't really a tournament.
