Ohio State vs Delaware State

Ugh! Just get out of this with a win and healthy.

I have to admit I keep flipping to the football games. This one isn't a thing of beauty.

Bucks working on the full court press a lot. Hasn't been terribly effective, but could come in handy further down the road. I like how Lighty and Buford are learning how to create their own chances with ET out. Lighty, in particular, is making some nice decisions when he sees a lane to the basket. I would like to see Simmons and PJ go to the basket a little more frequently to loosen up the D.

Wow....what a yawner that was. DSU plays some ugly basketball.

I can't imagine they play like that every game, at least not any game they hope to win. Something tells me that they won't get invited to too many more payday games if they keep that up, either. It was an absurd thing to do. If you don't want to play against a better team, then don't schedule them. Period. What DSU did was a travishamockery.

I'd call what they were doing a "prevent offense". They played milk the shot clock every time down the floor, and never even tried to make a run at Ohio State or really to compete. The entire goal seems to have been to minimize the margin of defeat. They wouldn't even begin working for a shot until there were under 10 or even 5 seconds on the shot clock, throwing up some buzzer-beater heave half the time. Finally, Matta started running a 3/4 court press on them just to get some turnovers and quick baskets. It was just...weird, as if their goal was to shorten the game and beat the spread and do nothing else.

Exactly. I don't even understand why a coach would schedule a game against a big-time opponent that he knows he has no chance of winning and doesn't even try to win which is even worse. I know that is all about the $$$ but play to keep the score down is shameful. I mean people paid big money to watch a basketball game and I do not think that was much of a basketball game when you are just trying to hold score down :(
