You could get a one week free subscription of Playstation Vue. Online streaming service. Don't need a Playstation. You could also use a smart TV/Amazon firestick/chrome cast, or even just stream on phone /laptop.

Edit: there are 3 packages. If you have no plans of keeping it, might as well get the biggest package. If you're legitimately interested in keeping it, the middle package has BTN I believe. I think that's the one I have.

Saturday Will Mark a Flashback to a Happy Time for a Young Urban Meyer

When Urban Meyer wakes up in the morning these days, he bleeds scarlet and gray. The Ohio State head coach has made no secrets that coaching the Buckeyes is his dream job, but that doesn’t mean previous stops in his career don’t hit home.

On Saturday, OSU opens the 2016 season against Bowling Green, the program that offered Meyer his first head coaching opportunity way back in 2001.

“I want to say a couple of things also about a great school we're playing this week,” Meyer said on Monday. “Bowling Green, I love that school.

“I loved my time there, and a lot of great people there.”

After various assistant coaching jobs from 1985 (St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati) to 2000 (wide receivers coach at Notre Dame), which included two seasons as a graduate assistant in Columbus coaching the Buckeyes, Meyer accepted the job at Bowling Green.

This wasn’t a position he accepted without much thought. Although most coaches would jump at a chance to take the top spot at an FBS program, Meyer was looking for something he saw at other places: history.

“The reason we took it, first of all,” Meyer began, “they had a winning record against every team in that conference, overall record. So that tells you, taking over a place that's never done it is hard. But to take over a place that's done it, maybe has fallen off a little bit. And I still remember that to this day, when I think about Bowling Green, it's one of the most tradition-rich programs in the MAC.”

When Meyer walks into the Woody Hayes Athletic Center each day, he does so with confidence. His Buckeye team is one of the best programs in the nation, but that was not true when Meyer arrived at Doyt Perry Stadium.

“I remember one of those preseason magazines came out, I think we were 129, or 119 or something like that. That was our ranking,” Meyer said of 2001. “I thought you have to be blanking me when I saw that. I didn't know there were 129 teams or 119 teams, 120 teams.”

Introducing Bowling Green’s new head coach, Mike Jinks

The Falcons’ new hire has shot up the ranks rather quickly.

If you look at the best coaches in college football, you will typically see a lengthy collegiate resume.

Most start as a graduate assistant (GA) cutting tape all hours of the day. Then they transition to a couple of positional coaching jobs. Then get hooked up by a colleague above them who got hired as a head coach at another school and become a coordinator. After 10-to-15 years of grinding through long hours at an array of different schools — it took both Urban Meyer 16 years to become the head coach at Bowling Green — they’ll get a crack at a head coaching job at a smaller school before going big time.

Don’t tell that to Bowling Green’s new head coach Mike Jinks, who is taking over for Dino Babers, who ran an electrifying offense before moving onto Syracuse in the offseason. It took Babers 28 years — yes 28 years — to get his first head coaching job at Eastern Illinois in 2012.

The 2013-2014 season was actually Jinks’ first season in college football. He was named the first ever head coach at Steele High School (TX) in 2005 and quickly turned that school into a state of Texas power, going 76-18 during tenure. He also coached the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in 2013, was a National Coach of the Year finalist, and a Texas high school state champion.

Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury was so impressed by Jinks that he offered him a job to coach running backs coach in 2013, before quickly promoting him to associate head coach in 2015. Jinks’ greatest achievement at Texas Tech was developing DeAndre Washington (now with the Raiders) in 2014 and turning him into Tech’s first 1,000 yard rusher since 1998. Typically known for their aerial attack, the Red Raiders averaged 204.8 rushing yards per game, along with 34 rushing touchdowns in 2015. Washington also led the Big 12 in rushing yards that season under Jinks’ tutelage.

Having been through a few of these game 1's as a Buckeye fan, I hope that everyone is tempering their enthusiasm a little. Everyone across the country expects OSU to throttle BG, and they will by 20-40, but there will be issues. There will be breakdowns in the OL, Weber will make the wrong cut, receivers will drop balls, JT will not run wild because they don't want him to, and there will be defensive breakdowns. Let's say none of that happens and they look fantastic. It still doesn't mean that the Buckeyes are a lock for the playoff. We won't know whether they are worthy of that until game 3, and maybe way later than that.

I think this is a year where we need to try to enjoy the journey. I have little doubt that Ohio State will be a top 5 team by the end of the year, but they are going to have to grow into that, and there are a ton of variables that could prevent them from being that. I'm just thankful that the season is here and I get to watch it unfold.

Mike Jinks is not a betting man, so don't expect him sifting through websites from Las Vegas oddsmakers to see what his chances are at tumbling Ohio State in his first game as Bowling Green head coach.

"I really wouldn’t care one way or another," Jinks said Monday. "I’ve been an underdog my whole life."

Bowling Green's visit to Ohio Stadium on Saturday not only marks the start of the 2016 season for both programs — and their first meeting since 2006 — but it's Jinks' first appearance as a college football head coach. He spent the last three seasons at Texas Tech coaching the Red Raider running backs and serving as associate head coach in 2015. Before 2013, he made his name in Texas as an offensive coordinator and later high school head coach.

When Dino Babers left the Falcons for Syracuse after amassing 18 wins in two seasons, Bowling Green's administration decided to give Jinks a shot. But his shot begins against Urban Meyer and Ohio State, a program that endured transition from housing 12 NFL Draft picks a year ago to now seeing 44 players with freshmen eligibility on its roster. A horde of new faces is set to play key roles for the Buckeyes for the first time in their careers.

"How (will) the players react to the environment of 110,000, 108,000, whatever it is?" Meyer said Monday. "The loud, crowd, I'm sure it's going to be hot. And how they react, not Pat Elflein and J.T. (Barrett), but how the Austin Macks of the world and Malik Hooker is going to do respond because they've done really well the last few weeks."

Meyer got his coaching start at Bowling Green 15 years ago, a place and team he remains close with to this day.

"I love that school," Meyer said.
