The god awful defense is all on the coaching.
Michigan got Dusty May who quicky has that program rolling at a very high level. We settled for the assistant of the failed former coach who has the Ohio State program sputtering in the same mediocrity. The big difference here.
MICHIGAN HAS THE FIFTH-HIGHEST NIL IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY, WHILE OHIO STATE IS 12TH IN THE BIG TEN.
You fail to acknowledge reality. There aren't big tech titans waiting in the wings to donate to OSU hoops. I think NIL is part of why May went to Michigan instead of OSU in the first place. Maybe the AD did put out feelers and found out May wasn't interested without being bankrolled like one of the top programs in the country, have you ever considered that? When you just hand the job to part of the former failed product do you really expect people to be lining up the fund the hoops program? These excuses are complete lame. The Athletic Department took the lazy option and the results are about what you can expect from that

You have stated your opinion over and over. Rehashing it every time the team loses a game or struggles is lame.Have you considered that none of this is an excuse for Diebler being in over his head and just not good as an actual coach. He's another "nice guy" who's not good at the job. Just like his former boss.

It remains true though. When you settle for assistants of the former failed coach you are going to get the same failed results. I don't understand how anyone thought this experiment was going to go any other way than it has so far
My stance is it's foolish to hate on Diebler in Year 2 with the 12th-highest NIL in the B1G. Part of the reason it's been 10 years since OSU won a B1G championship is lack of financial support. Changing coaches is pointless without changing the way NIL is funded dramatically. You're never going to be happy following this program because you're rooting for a team that you want to be a contender but doesn't remotely do what it takes financially in order to do it.
