Game Thread Ohio State v Washington 2018 Rose Bowl Pasadena, CA 1/1/19 5pm on ESPN

What happened with LAX? I've gone through LAX about a dozen times and have had no real issues (other than it's a real mother fucker to get in and out of, traffic-wise)...

International to Domestic connection in 2004.
First it was the longest Customs ive ever seen for US citizens. Then i got flagged for being military and more questions. But that was just the beginning.
Of course LAX is one of those places where you have to go all the way out and come back in when going through Customs.

The bus to transfer terminals broke and had to walk it w/ luggage (mind there was no food on patriot express... so nothing to eat for ~16hrs at this point). Followed by beggers the whole way. Why do they think an airport is a good place to find generosity? And how does security let them all stay?

Checking into Frontier, there's just 1 20something agent who gives no fucks. A whole line of people for same flight to Denver and she holds it up 20 minutes arguing about 4lbs of overweight luggage with one customer.
Then back through security that felt like 2 hours but was probably closer to 1. 10 of us get to the gate as theyre shutting the doors.
Everyone is livid. So they send up some 'manager', couldnt have been older than 25... wearing sunglasses inside... would fit in perfectly with all the worst Jersey Shore stereotypes (wrong coast, dont care).
So everyone gets bumped to a flight 6 hours later. At least i finally got shitty overpriced airport food...
Only in LAX can you have a 4hr layover, run through the process, and miss the connection
Get to Denver and they left my bags in LA.
Fuck Frontier and fuck LAX.
It'd be a godsend if an earthquake swallowed that and the Coliseum.

So, you'd say, negative experience?

Yeah, I'd say they sucked. My first experience through there was in 2008 (was in town to witness in-person the 35-3 USC beatdown). There were some beggers there and I think some mini protest. But ever since then I haven't had any real bad experience, and their USO rocks.

UPS just came to our house. Let me set the scene here first....it it been pouring really POURING down on us here for the last two days (basically dark and stormy night). I'm still up researching stuff to do on the trip (still haven't gotten an Airbnb yet but I'm not worried....also I referred my husband and now he gets $40 off. Suckers.).... everywhere else it's dark. EVERYONE is asleep.

Doorbell rang. I figured okay Amazon they'll just leave it. No. Rings again. One of the other two people who actually order things will certainly get up, right? No. Then whoever it is starts knocking. HARD. I'm all freaked out. No one is getting up. I try to get my husband up and he is barely conscious. I don't know if one of my Mom's crazy neighbors/friends is randomly stopping by. But, ever since I was served with a small claims subpoena I don't get the door. Ever. If it's important enough they can call.

But this is Florida and I also don't want to be responsible if someone died their loved one was coming to tell my Mom. Finally, I wake her up and.....

Turns out the UPS driver is just a HUGE Ohio State fan and didn't want to stick the tickets in the door. LOL.

But, sadly our seats are not where I expected them to be. Section 12 row 67 seats in the 100s. At first I'm pissed because StubHub is selling tickets for considerably less and I feel like I could've saved $50 to sit in the same place. Turns out (not sure why) 12H rows 60 and up are going for $175. I can make no sense of this & still feel like we probably have bad seats. But @ least I don't feel as ripped off.

Also no one is dead, coming to murder us, or serve me with court papers. So there's that.

Not sure what would have been worse, murder or jury duty notice over the game/trip. Think they are the same knowing the condition. Have fun, stay dry, drink and eat too much and take a shit ton of pictures so I can live vicariously through all of you going to this game. Last moment with Meyer on the sideline with promising new coach Day prowling, Haskins slinging it, Weber punching a few more in as a Buckeye and Carmen Ohio with the sun setting over one of the best college football venues and iconic bowl locations in history.

Will do. I have also found out a good sob story to an Airbnb host who has yet to rent out their place is a good tactic. Any money is better than no money I figure.....as long as they can pay the maid and we don't ruin their place. So far I've been offered a couple of discounts on some nice places. However, they're generally the richy rich condos. Never hurts to ask!

As far as anyone who has nosebleed seats, I thought this article was funny. I don't know if I have the confidence to try it but if any of you do please share your story....
