Like you, I remember the Woody Hayes glory days of the 1970s and before. Ohio State going to the Rose Bowl was always an occasion. I'm convinced that the crowd that is downplaying the game is way too young to remember how big of a deal it was. To us old timers, it always was and will be.

There's only one way to say it......I'm pumped! GO BUCKS!!!!! :urban2: :boom:

I just keep think thinking how great last season would have been if the Bowl Game had been played in the Rose Bowl (as it WOULD have been any other year!) instead of the Cotton.

Buckeyes vs the Trojans in the Rose Bowl.
Doesn't get any more traditional than that!
Keith Jackson would have been the only thing missing.
Damn I'm getting old.

Move over, friend. Yeah, those were great days to be sure. My late brother was a squad leader in TBDBITL, and went to the Rose with Woody four times.
Before I get too maudlin, I haven't looked forward to a game as I do this one since the NCG of 2014. Buckeyes roll 49-21. :urban2: :oh:

Don’t be sorry. Took my dad and oldest son to AA with my BIL and nephew in ‘17. Was a great experience. Have been with my dad and both boys (when they were much younger) in the Shoe. Was a great experience. No apologies necessary.

I'm only 30 years old and maybe I inherited from my father, but the Rose Bowl gets me awfully excited. So much tradition in this game and I will always be excited to get into the Rose Bowl. This game is not some meaningless game, it is the freaking Rose Bowl.

And it is the only Rose Bowl Urban is ever going to coach in. I think anyway. Bookies better duck because I am bringing the haymaker. Haskins and the boys are going to destroy that vegas line.

In LA visiting my oldest for Christmas (youngest is flying in from NYC Thursday to join us), and yesterday went to the Studio City farmer's market where we met up with two of her friends, one of whom is a UW grad. A little friendly back-and-forth bantering but after reminding him of what we did to TFUN and that the team will likely be as fired up for the RB to send out UFM on a high note, the bantering stopped.

Anyone been to a Rose Bowl recently? I know the Bucks haven't played in one since 2010 so not sure if anyone has current info on where to stay, where not to stay, getting to the stadium, parking, etc. I am flying into LAX on Dec 31st with the wife and currently have hotel booked in Burbank. Hear it's rough traffic into Pasadena from Burbank (I imagine it's rough traffic from anywhere, it's California!) so was looking for any info or guidance anyone might have. Any additional info would be welcome as well (New Year's eve happenings, tailgating, etc.). Think I also read somewhere that alcohol is not served in the stadium .... WTF?
