@Ryan36_1 really gave me something to think about & great advice. I thought, Fuck it.... You have to live while you still can.

$869 for both of us. TPA to LAX then Long Beach back to Tampa (whoever suggested that you saved us a hefty amount so thank you @Fungo Squiggly ???)

It def took crazy mental gymnastics (gift cards, SW points, vouchers), but we're going. I actually never really thought about the fact we'd be in LA for NYE. So if you read about Ryan Gosling & some mystery chick.....

@lvbuckeye Get ready... because I'm about to start looking for an Airbnb!!! Are you ready for some housing posts? :nod:

@sammyjenkis were you able to find the Ohio State ticket link? If you're within driving distance you have to come. If you need help with anything PM me. If by some grace of God we end up with free tickets you are still welcome to these!

Thank you very much. Bucket list thing is good to hear! Honestly, I'm not sure if I would've followed through without you guys. I haven't even been to a regular Buckeye game in probably 8-10 years. Not to mention loads of other stuff to do. Glad we're doing it. Husband really wants to go to the Comedy Store which should be fun. I hate regular tourist stuff so we have just enough time to find some weird off the beaten path activities (museum of death? Lol). Oh, but the napping will still be a big part of the agenda.

Will definitely be posting pictures!!! Of course the game. And if we look pimp on NYE.

Damnit I'm excited about this. Yeah, the new reality is to make the playoffs, but come on! OSU is the Big Ten champ going to the Rose Bowl to take on the Pac-10 Champ! That's old school, man!

The only thing that would make this even MORE old school is if it was USC (or UCLA). But the Huskies will certainly do.

TICKET INFO:

Buying from Ohio State (endzone/corner): We did the lottery and got face value tix (corner/endzone). Ended up in section 9L (we were pretty happy w/those seats). Here's a good website for anybody who wants to see their section from a previous game/event:

VENUE: A couple of different opinions out there but I found this website helpful as far as seating:

Notice it says there's partially obstructed seats in some areas.

ROW: The higher the better (to a point). The Rose Bowl is particularly sunken in so if you were to end up with what you might think are "nosebleeds", they may be better than the first 10 rows or "rose" (sorry, I had to).

PRICE: Whether to wait or not... This is just what I read FWIW:

Many of the fans have traveled a considerable distance for a special game, prob paid $250+ for seats, if they do happen to have an extra (sick, etc.) it'll prob be a single and most importantly... it's Urb's last game & a Heisman candidate QB. Which has caused fans and prob not as many scalpers to get tix(?). I read this:

WARNING: If you decide to wait, I would highly recommend buying off a reputable site. OR... if you choose Craigslist/Facebook/Offerup transfer the tickets via Ticketmaster or pick up HARD TICKETS from their house (seriously). Otherwise, have them walk you thru or exchange $ at the scanner. I know this seems like obvious advice but you have no clue how many ppl tried to scam me for Billy Joel.

I've never purchased tickets for a sporting event but my husband said, "as long as we get in, that's good enough for me." We tend to find a way of working something out-- long story (but...empty seats by halftime? move down a little). Bring binoculars.

If you go through Ticketmaster you have to pay $30 for shipping (from what I can tell). I went through the actual University and even though you go through the lottery, you only pay for the $180 tickets. No fees no shipping. If you want the cheap seats this is probably the best price you will get. I can't guarantee where you end up though.....but I'm willing to bet endzone seats are probably more expensive already.

I don't know what your budget is but if you want GOOD seats I'd probably just use Stubhub.

Yea that OSU link to Ticket Master only has bleacher seats available. Willing to pay a bit more especially for a seat that has a back on it. I'll keep looking. Thanks much!
