Game Thread Ohio State @ Rutgers - 11/16/19, 3:30PM (BTN)

Clemson has 0 left on their schedule. Bucks have two ranked games coming up. Not worried about rankings at all.

Which is precisely why you saw Dabo throwing the ball 7 times on his final drive against NC State up 45-7.

They need the “style points” more than any of the undefeated teams.

If Baylor goes undefeated, they will have a much MUCH better resume. Big if, though.

Sorry Chug's family has to watch this...

Oh for fucks sake. Dude, you say some exceptionally dumb shit from time to time. But really read what you just wrote and really think about how fucking dumb that is. I'm sure they are so very sorry and not at all extremely proud that he's playing in his home state destroying Rutgers.

I can't even fathom that being a criticism

You get that my "we can't even jokes" are mocking people like you, right?

Yes, we're nitpicking

BUT

Ohio State has played the backups against everyone, yet they've given up multiple touchdowns to TWO B1G teams, Maryland and Rutgers.

Rutgers has scored multiple touchdowns in B1G games once this year.

One Time

Today

This is not a crisis, but like many things we've seen today, it shows a lack of focus.

This is not necessarily a problem, but we have seen before how teams have started to slide, then couldn't stop the slide.

We've also seen teams have a couple of off weeks and get right back in the saddle.

Here's hoping it's the latter this time.

Exactly. This is all I'm saying. I get it, it's not important at all right now. But with how hard it is to win NCs and how much team chemistry and peaking at the right time matters, little things can come back to be an issue later. That's all.

Not sounding alarms or acting like it's a big deal. Just a statement on how they're playing.

You’re trying to reason with a person who complains about stories involving young people with cancer.

On the scoreboard, Ohio State picks up another TD and they won't cover, but it will still be quite a rout. Looking under the hood, this has not been a good outing.

The offensive and defensive lines--a strength this year--have looked very unimpressive against a very weak team. There's been a bit of sloppiness that we haven't seen this year. The punting game isn't close to the winning performance that it turned in to be key in several games last year. Perhaps it is the problem of trying to rest the 1s after a half? The cold? The lack of a challenge and looking too easy at the start? I don't care about the scoreline, but there were mistakes today that would make the next three games a lot closer than one thinks and maybe a loss or two.

Now that I am done venting, I think the main problem is focus and a very different team will take the field next week in Columbus.

Maybe this is good. There's a lot of work to get done and the senior leadership needs to get the rest of the players to pull themselves toward themselves.

We can’t even have a letdown game that goes to triple overtime.
