I'm going to offer a counter opinion to the stampede to denounce "Kenny the Rooster" and other anonymous, social media morons. I'm a little disappointed in Bowen's tweet. That is not to defend "Kenny the Rooster." It is to point out that getting insulting tweets from anonymous morons is a universal feature of Twitter. I've gotten them. I'm sure you get far more of it if you're a somewhat public figure, like Bowen, or anyone else who has started for a major football program. But that is what you sign up for when you're active on Twitter, especially if you're a somewhat public figure. Again, this is not to excuse the insulting, anonymous morons. If you don't want to hear from insulting, anonymous morons, stay off of Twitter. But don't retweet them and complain about it. Because, whether intended or not, you're casting aspersions on a lot of good people who support your program, and you're really just highlighting a characteristic of the system, Twitter, that you chose to participate in.
