When I played in High School I was always nervous the first series but settled in after that. Granted the stakes weren't nearly as high and I was second string, but still.

I'm nervous...i'll never understand how the kids do it. I would have thrown up x4 already.

I've seen people throw up more than once before big games when in HS, and like Sys id said, not anywhere near the stakes. I played at the equivalent of Illinois in the OHSAA so "big stakes" was not really something that happened to us.
