I live an hours drive from State College but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make. Bring on the meteor!
And keep the soap on a rope handy.Otherwise a windowless/sound proof structure will suffice too... such as a shower.
Just wear shoes.
what do you have against Lawrence, KS?
My home state used to play them every year in football, etc, while both teams were in the Big 12. It had been the longest-running football rivalry west of the Mississippi up to that point. It grew out of Quantril's Raiders and The James Gang. There is a long history.
Is there a way for them both to lose the same game?I loathe PSU fans above any other fanbase. I'm not going to root for TSUN, but I hope PSU loses that game, final score 3-2.
We get to keep Harbaugh for at least another year, Franklin ends up getting into a fight with a fan and gets fired. Best possible outcome save for a meteor.
That's what the above convo was about lol... the consensus is a meteor.
Yeah, okay......didn't pick up on the "meteor" connotation. It's all good!
Well aware of the history. I feel the same way about your state and I didn't even grow up here. M-I-Z, Z-O-U chose to leave, that's not KU's fault. At least they had a chance to win a conference title before leaving. Now, they have little to no shot in the current SEC.
Serious questions? Are you happy with the decision now that MIZZOU basically has no "true" rival except Arkansas? Do you ever get to see them play on the road?
I hate being an OSU fan living in KS. Only road venue that is close is Lincoln, and that's 3.5-4 hrs away. And, I only make it back to Columbus once every few yrs for a game. Sucks.
I am not one bit happy that the Big 8 dissolved, in effect, when they allowed Texas to dominate it. I grew up watching the Bulldogs (early sixties mascot for Missouri). I did not want to see them move to the SEC, for many reasons. Academically, they fit much better with the B1G. Probably better geographically, too. They could have had rivalries with Illinois, Iowa, resumed their rivalry with Nebraska, etc. But, judging from the Mizzou Talk board on the Post-Dispatch's website, they were sick to death of Texas and worried that the Big 12 would just evaporate. There were rumors of both Oklahomas to the SEC, all kinds of crazy stuff.
I guess that I am too old for such sea-changes in the college football landscape. The B1G has done okay with them, but is still not where it should be, strength-wise, top to bottom.
Thanks for your post. I wish that we were still playing. It was a great and very even rivalry. It was almost a death curse to be the favorite in that game.
