Ohio State @ Nebraska, Saturday, January 26 @ 12pm, FS1

finally, someone stepped up and made some key shots. Luther had himself a game.

It's unfortunate, but the offense looks so much better and fluid without Kaleb in there. They force it in to him way too much and he clogs up the middle. Their floor spacing is better and they are more aggressive off the dribble without him too.

The downside is lack of size/rebounding without him. Neb is a poor rebounding team (one of the worst in the country) so not having Kaleb in there didn't hurt them on the glass much today, against bigger and better rebounding teams it will.

Unfortunately this game may very well have been a catalyst for Nebraska's season to spiral downwards. I don't know how they can recover from losing Copeland. NIT is now most likely the best case scenario for the Huskers. And losing Watson, Palmer and Copeland all after this season is going to create a talent void for the Huskers.

I was suggesting the downside with him being out and going 5 small all the time would be the lack of size left on the floor.

Obviously, the expectation would be for him to clean the glass in a game vs. a poor rebounding Neb team when he's in there.

not sure what his +/- was but my eyes don't lie and the Bucks looked better yesterday with him on the bench, despite his dd rebounds, and have looked significantly better in numerous games this year when Coach H has been forced to go small bc of Kaleb's early foul issues.

Again, coach is in a tough position bc they get murdered on the glass vs. good teams when he isn't on the floor.

He's also the only consistent offensive threat--although with teams doubling him at will and him either turning it over or passing it to a perimeter player who can't make the defensive collapse pay, that is starting to wear off and, yeah, our offense is getting bogged down when we try to run it through him.

But if Andre and Luther can keep scoring from outside then we might have something. Still need more improvement from the other guards, but they were better yesterday. If we're not going to hit outside shots, then, yeah, we might as well take Kaleb out.
