Game Thread Ohio State @ Nebraska, 10/14/17 @ 7:30 ET (FS1)

I think Ohio State is much improved, but because they have faced Army, UNLV, Rutgers, and Maryland we still don't know whether the offensive problems are fixed for when they face an outstanding defense or whether the DB's can hold up against a good offense. That judgment will be made after the Penn State game. I don't think Nebraska has anything in common with Oklahoma, but a lot of defensive football has to do with effort with violence within a scheme. I'm thinking that if they find a way to do that, they might find some degree of success, and if you do it enough to create some frustration and doubt in the OSU offensive players and Wilson, then you might find a way to stymie the works. My problem with Nebraska is that I don't see the effort, violence, or scheme.

yeah that's why I'm confident in this game that we will dominate... Pedo we will have to see.

Maryland is about on par with what we will see from corn I feel.

This is the secondary's coming out party. They've gotten remarkably better and Tanner Lee's arm is incredibly suspect.
I honestly think so too. I really like Fuller and Ward has taken his play to another level I feel.

What is great is I'm confident that if the other team finds a go to man that they'll put Ward on them and that persons night will be over.

In case anybody has forgotten about the last time we rolled into Lincoln. Anything but a complete plungering of the home team is unacceptable.

Ever since the loss the secondary has been coming on strong. Fuller is coming into his own, Ward is a shut down corner, Arnette isn't too far behind and Sheffield is also coming on. Granted, the DL has a lot to do with it, but that's the plan right!? Really pleased with the Defense and really looking for another dominant performance.

And Arnette is the best tackler of the bunch. Pretty good situation shaping up and young Okudah playing well so far.

Yeah I won't lie I really like how Arnette has played. Hell even in the Oklahoma game it wasn't the corners it was our backers getting torched across the middle and Eric Smith.

Sheffield is quietly getting better but I really like Damon and Ward

Wife and I will leave Denver at 7:00 Saturday morning for the long drive east to Lincoln. We are allowing for extra time to account for being pulled over due to our Colorado plates, because the neighboring states all assume we are trafficking marijuana. The OSU magnet on the back of my truck won't help matters either.

EMERGING NEBRASKA PLAYMAKER JD SPIELMAN HAS OHIO STATE TIES

86442_h.jpg

JD Spielman nearly became a member of the Ohio State lacrosse team.

Instead, he’s preparing to play against the Ohio State football team this Saturday.

A nephew of legendary Ohio State linebacker Chris Spielman, JD Spielman had plans to become a student-athlete at the same school where his uncle once starred when he committed to play lacrosse for Ohio State in 2013. JD’s older brother Ronnie had already committed to play for the Ohio State lacrosse team, and JD had visions of playing alongside his brother while continuing his family’s Buckeye legacy.

JD Spielman’s ultimate dream, however, was to play Division I college football. So when he began receiving offers from major college football programs, he decided to decommit from Ohio State’s lacrosse team and follow his football dream at Nebraska, where the Buckeyes play the Cornhuskers on Saturday night.

"When I finally got the chance and I finally got my first offer and the other offers came in, I just had a switch of heart," Spielman told Eleven Warriors on Tuesday. "I mean, it wasn’t really a switch of heart because I always wanted to play football, but when I got the opportunity, I knew I wanted to take it."
