Game Thread Ohio State @ Nebraska - 09/28/19, 7:30PM (ABC)

How about "dead due to fat", cuz the agency's got "project walmart" running right now. Rich Rod did a fantastic job bringing his WVa clan, followed up by Hoke. And then good ole Chuckie Weis. Names emblazoned on the marble wall and what not...

But, just in case, are we talking "Meteor Strike", as a contingency here?

Just want to make sure I don't have to go see "my guy" more than once.

'74, '98, '13, '15

their upsets always seem so monumental because they are always such a pedestrian fucking program

As this week rolls on, it's been mentioned a few times already but, fuck the WHOLE state up north

I wasn't born yet in '74, so I don't know.

'98 was a clusterfuck of Winfield being too short to cover Cheddar Bob, err Plaxico, some highly questionable play calls, like rolling Germaine to the right when there were no receivers running routes to that side of the field (sack, fumble, MSU recovered for 1st and goal) and general Coop-fuckery. Fuck that game. The being said, Saban was the head coach, and Dantonio was the DC, so they actually had great coaches. Still, fuck that game. Forever.

'13 was inexcusable. Give Hyde the rock, dumbass.

'15 was inexcusable. Feed Zeke, dumbass.

Thank God red chicklets don't exist any more, but I'll say it: Urban underachieved.

I don’t know if underachieved is the right word. I think he was too loyal to underachieving assistants.

He underachieved...by the ridiculous standard he set and because he coached during the Saban era. 9 losses in 8 years is absurd. Yeah, he royally fucked up some of his coaching hires and he probably should've come away with at least 1 more NC, but big picture he elevated this program from already top 5 during the Tressel era to one with dynasty potential.

Urban went 82-9 with a .901 winning percentage (and .931 in conference games) over 7 years, including 7-0 vs scUM and 1 National Championship. Keep in mind that he would of likely won a National Championship in 2012 (vs Notre Dame) had Ohio State not had been on probation. Woody had 5 National Championships over 28 years; nobody else had any other stat better than Urban. Maybe Urban didn't reach his maximum potential as a head coach; however, I won't say he underachieved.

Let me put it this way, I'll happily take any head coach that can put up a 7 year record equivalent to Urban's.

'13 MSU. Carlos fucking Hyde literally was not stopped for a loss the ENTIRE SEASON. He averaged 7.4 ypc FOR THE SEASON. and what did Urban do? Call Braxton. EPIC. FAIL.

'15 MSU. Zeke got TWO carries in the second half. This dude passed Eddie George for SECOND ALL TIME in Ohio State history in only two seasons. That's insane. but yeah, lets call all pass plays with JT. fail of epic proportions.

The entire '15 season was a colossal fuck up. Have you watched the NFL recently? That might have been the most stacked team in terms of NFL talent of all time, and what did they have to show for it?

2016 State Penn. Epic come from ahead LOSS. FAIL. 31-0 FAIL

2017 Iowa. Really? FAIL.

2018 Purdue: Really? FAIL.

YES, he beat TTUN, thank goodness. But he was nearly as adept as COOPER at fucking up a national championship run.

Edit: this is Ohio State we're talking about. The winningest team by a comfortable margin since like 1930. Why are there so many Walmart wolverines? Because we were clearly the better team, yet faceplanted against those shitheels for an entire decade. Only Oklahoma can compare, and they had some pretty rough years before Bob Stoops showed up.

Think about it. Since 1951, Earle Bruce is the WORST coach we've had, and that dude won 75% of his games.

And the best we had in terms of Pct was Meyer.

Seeing in other threads where Fowler, Mark (blew 5 guys at Pitt) May, etc. stating that the Buckeyes are the best team. Do we think any of them say this if that game had been played at noon of Fox?

Also important to realize their tune always changes by 10am Sunday, if not sooner (ie recap show)
It's as predictable as July hype from scUM, or rebounding against Rutgers.
