In 2017, #2 Clemson lost to unranked Syracuse. They rebounded to #1 by beating unranked Georgia Tech; #20 NC State; unranked Florida State; FCS Citadel; and unranked South Carolina.

In 2018, #2 Ohio State lost to unranked Purdue. Thereafter, Ohio State beat unranked Nebraska; #24 Michigan State; unranked Maryland; #4 Michigan; #21 Northwestern; and still finished the regular season at #6 in the polls.

Clemson loses to a scrub team, and the pollsters ignore it. Ohio State loses to a scrub team, and the pollsters screw us.

This. Ohio State (and the Big Ten) has been held to a different standard for 15 years.

Clemson tends to lose to bad teams by 3-7 while the last 2 years under Meyer we tended to be down 14 in the 2n half then let it get away from us at the end of the game. But yes as I said earlier Clemson gets the Bama mulligan at this point. While we are held to a different standard.

It works like this:

tOSU - Nattys in 2002 and 2014.
The rest of the B1G??? Not lately

SEC and ACC..... Nattys essentially all the other years tOSU didn't win recently.

It's not a "different standard"..... it's that the B1G isn't what it used to be.

I'm for the B1G being more than a one team conference.
