Several members of the team are in the draw for the pro tour Columbus challenger.
Was especially interested to see that senior Justin Boulais had won a pro tournament last week and knocked off fellow team member JJ Tracy in the first round today.
Also upsets were claimed by Robert Cash and Vocel who took down the #2 seed in straight sets.

Update from the ITA all American on the OSU twitter.
2 Buckeye singles players Boulais and Bernard are still alive and trying to advance through qualifying rounds to the main draw.
Two dubs reams need one more win to qualify for main draw.

We could be hearing some big things this year from freshman Alexander Bernard. He is a lefty with a strong service game and very high ceiling as is evident in his march thru qualies and first round main draw victory over #13 ranked player.
Buckeyes will need to replace #2 & 4 in the singles lineup, it helps having Trotter back as grad senior.
Bernard is looking like coach Tuckers answer to play in the 2 or 3 line.

His brother Brandon is pretty dang good.

Brandon Nakashima: Current ranking No. 43 (17 October 2022), prize money US $1,917,462

Apparently he was a "one and done" at UVa:

Nakashima graduated from high school, High Bluff Academy in San Diego, a semester early, before enrolling at the University of Virginia in January 2019 at the age of 17. During his time at UVA, he finished the season with a 17–5 record in singles and 20–3 record in doubles. At the end of the season he received the ACC-Freshman of the Year and All-ACC First Team awards and was also a part of the All-ACC Academic Team. After one semester he decided to forgo his remaining years of eligibility and turn professional.
