Guido Pella #36
Carballes Baena ranked #101
J. J. Wolf ranked #138

Also, it will be interesting to see how the 2 wins effect his ATP ranking: https://www.atptour.com/en/players/jj-wolf/w09g/rankings-history
I am also interested to see how far the two wins move him up. It will help him not have to play qualifiers if he gets into the top 100. FYI, I’m pretty sure that ranking points are given solely based on how far a player gets in each tournament, regardless of the ranking of the opponents. So somebody getting into the third round gets the same points whether he beats a qualifier or he knocks out a top ten player.

Good catch on the rankings men... BB That is exactly the ATP formula. Coming into the us open JJ had accumulated 402 points over the last 12 months. He will pick up 90 for his advance to the round of 32 at a grand slam event.
He will get a nice bump up from #138 to the 110s, #115 Andy Murray has 502 points.

Great wins for fellow Buckeyes. Now, does taking this prize money make them professionals? Or are these guys grads/out of eligibility? I guess I'm behind on who's who on tOSU tennis team. Thanks for clearing away the fog.....go Bucks!

I believe that they can accept money to cover their expenses for competing in these tournaments per below:

http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/eligibility_center/ECMIP/Amateurism_Certification/Prize_Money.pdf

Accepting prize money beyond the actual/necessary expenses – It is not illegal for a potential NCAA athlete to have competed in professional competition. However, if they are eligible to win prize money, it cannot exceed the amount more than the necessary expenses.

I'm guessing that once they get a "good check" their expenses go up for the remainder of the season to cover the windfall, i.e. now flying first class, staying in nicer hotels, better rental cars, and eating in more expensive restaurants, etc...

Also, these guys are not out of eligibility and should be a few of the stars on this season's team. McNally and Kingsley will likely be the #1 and #2 singles players. See entire team:

https://ohiostatebuckeyes.com/sports/m-tennis/roster/

If this is accurate, they should be real good (again) this season as it appears everybody is returning.

Thanks Script, that's what I was hoping to hear. Used to be that if they took a nickel, they were ineligible - for rest of amateur life. Guess there's some nebulous 'line' where 'covering expenses' becomes winnings. Hope these young 'uns know where. Love to hear that all are returning, maybe this is the year Gracelink (and others) can whoop up about winning a 'Nati. Go Bucks!

Bucks will host an event this weekend. The Ohio State Invitational which features the top 3 B1G tennis squads for 2021.
This OSU team is loaded... Three doubles teams are ranked in ITA top 60, and in singles Tucker will have everyone back
Last year's NCAA freshman of the year Kingsley (#5 in ITA preseason rankings) has been killing it on the fall circuit. Senior McNally (#11), Grad Senior Seelig (#25) and Junior James Trotter (#80) will anchor the top of the lineup. Bucks also added a blue chip freshman with a UTR that would place him in the middle of the lineup.
I would love to experience the brand new tennis center but No spectators permitted, so it looks like the Live video and live scoring will get some action.

Two items:

1) The teams will contest singles and doubles matches throughout the weekend with no team scoring. Live video and live scoring will be available. There will be no public admission to this event.

2) These will be the first matches inside the phenomenal Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
